I'm just saying you wanna hate him, think he's a piece of shyt, aight.

But give the man credit for bringing home 27. Most valuable player on the team that postseason.

Credit where credit is due is all I'm sayin.

Oh, aight. No doubt. I have never fronted on his 2009 postseason.

"Come at the king, best not miss."

Motherfukkers throwing at him, mushing him in he face, young unaccomplished pitchers screaming at him on the field... it's like the saying about the 40 year-old single woman who keeps complaining about men: the problem is you, baby. I don't blame Jeter one fukking bit. Derek Sanderson was probably terrified that if he spoke to him too much he might catch whatever anti-swag disease alex has. Just like with roger clemens' piece of shyt ass, when arod is off the Yankees it'll be like he never existed to me. And I welcome the day. :ohlawd:

:myman: Stop reading my thoughts nikka. You scaring me.

I mean, I don't even know where to start with what's wrong with this post. But I'll go this way: show me a single postseason when David Eckstein was Bonds-like, and I'll go cop an A-Rod jersey. And keep in mind what Bonds-like means in general.

Then explain how in the hell you arrived at the conclusion that aside from Reggie, Jeter, and :manny: "most players suck in the postseason." Damn son, what the fukk kind of bizarre declarations backed up by zero evidence are these?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Okay, I'll take it back, Ecktein wasn't Bonds.. but he was beating in the 06 World Series. W/ that in mind, ask Bonds; Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Dave Winfield, and many others how they did in the postseason. Exactly, you're lucky if you get more than 100 ABs for a postseason career, so it's very unlikely you beast in that limited time.

It's not very unlikely. Plenty of people do, just as plenty don't. Small sample size is one thing, acting like postseason baseball become a complete fluke game where talent suddenly ceases to matter is another thing entirely.

David Eckstein had one pretty good though not outstanding series where no one else stood out all that much and the storyline of him being the hardest working tiny white guy who just won't quit made the media lose perspective.

But you know how fluky the postseason has been for David Eckstein? He hit .278/.345/.335 over 176 at bats. And for his career he hit .280/.345/.355. David Eckstein performed in the postseason like David Eckstein.

This ether was SOOOO strong...and it was true imo but he shouldn't have said it

But A-Rod dissed Jeter in a 2001 Esquire article, saying "Jeter's been blessed with great talent around him" and "he's never had to lead. You go into New York, you wanna stop Bernie [Williams] and [Paul] O'Neill," A-Rod was quoted as saying. "You never say, 'Don't let Derek beat you.' He's never your concern."

The numbers aren't as off as most would have you believe....but when you are paid as and considered the best in the game, you will be expected to raise your level of play and outside of a few series, arod has not

Exactly.

Even as much as Barry Bonds has been marked as a postseason failure, his career numbers are actually better than A-Rod's. But he's Barry Bonds, and he is held to a higher standard, just as he should be.

Did any Jankee fans really expect him to do shyt the past two years?

Last year he was hurt.

This year, he's another year older and a singles machine.

Why is he getting all the blame in October?...He's been average all year long, who really expected him to be Mr. October?

And who gives a shyt what he makes? It's not coming out of your paycheck, it's not your problem.

If you wanna scapegoat, there's others to choose from. Swish. Curtis. They've been as medicore. And they've had way better regular seasons. Blame Girardi for his spot in the lineup.
The fans who pay his salary by attending games and supporting the team? :mindblown:

2001 World Series says hello

Yes, everyone is going to have a string of games or even a series where they struggle but overall, Jeter has performed in the postseason. I don't think he has been as automatic as the media might lead one to believe but if you look at his regular season numbers and his postseason numbers, they jive.

Alex Rodriguez has consistently done less when the games have meant more. It goes well beyond the bias of a small sample size.
