Lets dead this thread
Arod has a .848 OPS in the playoffs

Soriano has a .562 OPS
Mark Tiexeria .622 OPS
Vlad has a .678 OPS
Reggie Sanders .609 OPS
Jason Kubel - .260 OPS :wtf: YES THATS A .260 OPS

Yes, everyone is going to have a string of games or even a series where they struggle but overall, Jeter has performed in the postseason. I don't think he has been as automatic as the media might lead one to believe but if you look at his regular season numbers and his postseason numbers, they jive.

Alex Rodriguez has consistently done less when the games have meant more. It goes well beyond the bias of a small sample size.

He's done worse, sure...

But the problems is that a 2 poor games lead to threads like this and the NY media demanding he get dropped to the 9th spot in the order :heh:

Jeter goes invisible for a 7-game WORLD SERIES and everyone is :ehh:

I really hope that A-Rod plays like '04 or '09 A-Rod for the rest of the post season because the team could really use it. But if he doesn't :manny: no hate, no griping its what I've come to expect.

At this point, he shouldn't be the difference for a championship. Cano, Granderson, Texeira, and CC gotta lead the charge, while Jeter stays doing what he does.

thats the thing, I can only have hate for A-Rod if he constantly comes up in key situations and shyts the bed. Other guys suck and get left out of the espn debates.

I'm hoping someone has posted this already....

...but, batting averages?

How about just posting the whole thing?

Career playoff numbers

.271/.380/.484

Derek Jeter

.309/.374 /.465 /.840 :mjpls:

So ARod has better playoff numbers then Jeter? :heh:

Truth is, even with his faults Arod has always been the better player but yankee fans just won't accept it.

For Jeter being the ultimate team player, how come he didn't move from ss to let the better defensive player and overall player take that position? It's suppose to all be about winning, right??

You know who I hate ??? More and more ... Granderson nicca can't steal bases , can't get on base, can't hit singles doubles or walk is average in CF what the hell happened to his speed ?? Was I wrong that he was faster in detroit

I think the same shyt everytime they post his stats. Im like yo he went from 20hrs, 20 triples, 20sb to Ryan Howard

Plus Jeter was just the MVP of the Subway Series the yr before and everyone remembers 'Mr. November' and the 'Flip Play' from that same 2001 postseason.

That's how he avoided any backlash, and I don't think backlash would have been fair anyway.

Exactly. A-Rod, the monster slugger third baseman barely has a better playoff OPS than Derek Jeter. Digest that and put it in baseball context and come up with an analysis more substantive that a gay ass drake smilie.

"Bron is having a subpar playoffs, man."
"Yeah but he's averaging a half a point and a rebound more than Chris Paul."

:usure:

Truth is, even with his faults Arod has always been the better player

That's not the truth, actually. Take this season for instance: Jeter's had the better season.

Also: a-rod is a banned substance using fakkit with a tainted career. He won't be viewed the same as Jeter. Deal with it. He's limping his way to an all time home run chase that no one cares about. Meanwhile, Derek DA GAWD went for 5-5 and homered for his 3000th hit. Some people have that ineffable "it," and some people really, truly don't.

And the reason Derek didn't move from short is the same reason a-rod's teammates in Seattle and Texas were fine seeing him leave, the same reason Dallas Braden's nobody ass felt comfortable screaming on a-rod, the same reason jason varitek DA UGLY HAIRCUT GAWD mushed that fakkit in the face like an errand boy who got out of pocket - because fukk a-rod. :lawd:

Derek led his team by example by just saying no to a fukk boy and his fukk boy anti-swag. Good!

playoff pitching is godly compared to regular season....so many strategies, so many techiques...if any of you played baseball you would know this....playoff baseball > any other sports playoffs AS FAR AS difficulties...so many ways to win and minimize your opponents momentum.. plus averages aint shyt when you walk or get pitched around..lets look at wins,RBIs,home runs, etc.....

But he could be a lot better in the post season if he wants to earn that G.O.A.T title....talent wise he is definitely the goat I'll say...but definitely not productively

The biggest gripe I have with A-Rod is WHEN he messes up in the post season and us all having that "it" feeling like we know him striking out or grounding out or popping out is going to happen. It seems like it's always either 2 outs or/and RISP when he comes to the plate and he'll ground out to short.
