Well define an Actor’s actor?
Because I feel like most character actors aren’t really into the roles that lead to being a “movie star” they don’t want to be in a superhero movie or buddy comedy. They usually want a role they can really get into like bio pics and stuff like that.

I'd argue Sam L is an avtor's actor. He loves this shyt. Doesn't matter if the role is big/small, he takes it seriously...never have I seen him phone it in.

Bale is this to a T! Does every type of role from drama to comedy to heist to indie to billion dollar franchises. Changes accents, gains weight, loses weight, gains weight, loses weight, wears costumes and make-up. The guys kills himself for the arts and has made major bank in films doing it. All he's missing is an Oscar for LEAD actor and he'll be set. BUT we know how rigged, sus and BS that can be.
It’s really tough to think about women in this category; distinguishing between versatile and being an actors actor is tough.
I would say Angela Bassett, is very versatile but I don’t know how others perceive/like her. Viola Davis could be, but I don’t know how others perceive her. Thoughts?
