I don't see how it's possible that Saul is a mole, or anything else like that. Despite red herrings like the lie detector....which was obviously a red herring....there is literally nothing suspicious about his character. Plus let's say he is the mole....what has he done to promote that agenda? He's the one that OKed the surveillance in Brody's house last season....he's the one that just OKed a squad to run up on Abu Nazir this last ep. If he's the mole he's the least effective mole in the history of the word.

That was a pretty shytty red herring if they meant for it to be one. They could have done a lot more to really sell it.

Writers can come up with countless explanations for Saul doing what he did. But personally, I feel like his character is a bit too mysterious for him to just be a straight shooter. He is definitely hiding something

It's not a shytty red herring because it did it's job. People were talking about "is Saul crooked?" immediately after that ep.

He's mysterious because he's not Brody or Carrie. There is only so much screen time they can give to side characters. We know as much about Saul as we do about any of the 2nd tier characters.

There is really no logical explanation for him being a mole and doing shyt that is 100% opposite and detrimental to the cause he's supposed to be supporting. For example, earlier in the thread somebody said "maybe he OKed the mission to grab Abu Nazir because he didn't think he'd be there"....which makes no sense. A mole would've killed the mission outright.

If he's the mole that would be some jump the shark shyt.

Nah, the lie detector scene was very obvious and blatant attempt and making you think Saul was dirty and then assuring you he was clean a little while later. It was definitely deeper than what we saw on the surface, I'm almost positive it will be revisited. And of course it doesn't look like Saul is the mole right now, but there are lots of explanations that people will eat up if it turns out Saul is dirty.

Saul is a little more than a side character, he's not a main character but he's not on par with everyone else. He may not be the mole exactly, but he's hiding something for sure. He's too smart and would be a great liar
