It's hard to ask questions on the internet about god, the best thing to do is call it a philosophical discussion.... That will bring more people in. There are some reasonable atheists but the annoying ones shout them down (same with christians).

I was reading some drug trip journals on Erowid a few weeks ago and a guy was freaking out from some thoughts he had on some drug I was thinking about trying, I can't remember the name haha. But anyway he freaked out because he had the thought about afterlife.... but what comes after the afterlife? Afterlife cannot be infinite. That idea kind of freaked me out too, because I've thought about it before--after seeing beetlejuice. It's like what the fukk happens after afterlife? Hypothetically if there is an afterlife, and we are conscious during it, what happens after that? Because the world has to end at some point.

fukk.

I used to fukk my head up as a kid by thinking to myself "But I'm me. But I'm me."

Had to think it twice or it wouldn't work. :russ:

But just that simple concept would have me on :ohhh: status.

If you don't have the answers to these questions wouldn't it be wiser to just reserve judgement until more evidence is available instead of just throwing that hypothesis into our gap of knowledge?

How does believing in an untestable hypothesis that only brings up more questions than it does answers make a person more intelligent than someone who chooses to temporarily suspend his/her judgement?

If anything it's giving up intellectually and hitting the easy button. Claiming that a supernatural all knowing/all wise being created everything doesn't help answer the questions of how/why.

Breh, by just looking around me I can say with absolute certainty that God exists. Are you trynna tell me that the complex human body with all its organs, cells and specific features for both genders is the resul of a random explosion (and some evolution that came out of nowhere)? C'mon now breh this is common sense stuff to me. When I look at the sky just sitting there, the mountains which are there to mininize earthquates, the oceans and all its species of fish in them, the sun which apparently would burn out earth if it was a bit closer to our planet...and you try and tell me some random explosion did all this?

How did that random explosion happen in the first place? How can something explode out of nothing? That's all I need to know that God is indeed the Creator but mankind is indeed ungrateful :wow:

explain.

everything pretty much behaves just as it would if there was no creator in the sky judging us.

:manny:

You're forgetting the most important question: How did we and everything else in existence get here?

You can say "it always existed" but wouldn't that require the same concept of "belief" you were mocking earlier? :usure:

That's what gets me, breh. I once heard this atheist speak and he talked about how vast the universe was and how the conditions for life were only just right here out of all these places... but then concluded we're insignificant. I was thinking, "damn we're lucky!" Especially when you consider how many millions of sperm our fathers shot out, that fateful nut and EVERY OTHER nut our pops ever shot out.

The odds of each of our existence is like 1 in infinity.

But a lot of people are just like :manny:.

how do u define we?

I know how I got here. Just like every mammal gets here. Sexual reproduction :what:

How did the universe start though? Like my dude said, how can there be so much order out here for it to be a coincidence?

I said we and every other thing in existence. So "we" means you and the particle of dust that just landed on your keyboard.

Come on, why do so many atheists pretend to be dumb when you ask them simple questions?

How did life begin? Any life.

That's a question scientist are currently working out.

Placing God in there is fine, just realize that it's untestable and doesn't really get us anywhere closer to finding an answer.

But what we do know for sure at the moment is how human organs originated and how mountains/earthquakes/storms work. (and whatever else u mentioned, I stopped reading after a while)

u a little behind on the latter bro

It's common sense to me, religion isn't even needed to understand this.
If I bring an empty box an place it in front of you and then say "it's gonna explode any minute now" :childplease: you'd think i'm crazy. That's what these guys are trynna sell to us.

The earliest forms of life were single celled organisms that lived in the atmosphere.

I dunno bro, I guess someone sneezed.

How do we even know that those single celled organisms were even so rare in the universe? (When we can't even get to the closest star to find out)

Could be a common occurrence for all we know

See I never understood the "science vs religion" debate. To me, they deal with 2 different things. Like if the Big Bang theory is proven without a doubt, cool, but how does that disprove God? Wouldn't a religious person just ascribe the cause of the Big Bang to God?

Like I said, I'm not religious but even studying evolution, evolution itself seems to be personified. Like it's some force that has a will or something.
