So you have your own self-created religion that you don't share with anyone else?

I personally haven't but others have and I'll let them explain themselves...I already explained my version of spiritually has nothing to do with a higher power.

I knew when I read the title how this thread was going to go, and who would dominate the discussion. :pachaha:

As for the actual question, I say that, or a variation of it. I'd rather say that I think religion as it is most definitely isn't for me ... but because of my background I do feel as if there is a higher power. Pushing me to be more specific than that could turn into a long conversation because by me saying higher power it basically implies that I believe in a God, or many gods ... and that's where it gets tricky.

Why don't you buy into religion?

Where do I start? For 1 I'm too much of an independent thinker to believe the whole "God works in mysterious ways" cop out that religious people always resort to. People have been trying to feed me the bible my whole life, my granddad was a deacon, my mother is a minister and I went to catholic school my first 7 years of school, many people have tried many angles to force feed me the bible, none of them made sense. As I got older I began to read into other religions, even studied Islam for a while, they all had 2 things in common, they all used "faith" as a cop out for questions they can't answer, and they all were used as a tool for enslavement and justification of enslavement of people which the religion was forced upon. That's an old African proverb that pretty much sums it all up, it goes "first we had thr land and the bible, now we have the Bible and they have the land"

Religion is an organization?
So "religious organization", is that some kind of redundant phrase?

:ohhh:Oh i get it you one of those smart dumb nikkas. Religious Organization isnt redundant, just like Criminal Organization, Feminist Organization, etc. If you dont believe in God, it doesnt make you any smarter than a believer. It's a greater act of faith to believe there is no God, than it is to have faith that there is.

Aren't you the one who just said religion is an organization?

Because you was saying how you can prove the things you believe in. You can't pove gravity exist but you believe in it.es .

No. Dummy.

Gravity is the phenomenon of massive attacting things to themselves.

We just try to describe it to the best of our ability.

You can't prove God don't exist

And you can't prove unicorns don't exist.

thats not how this works.

The burden of proof is on the person asserting the claim.

I can't prove a negative.

Neither can you.

The point is not that I can't "disprove" god, its that you can't prove your god. Its YOUR job to support your claim.

I'm not saying you're even wrong. I'm saying that you're not supporting your argument.

just like you cant prove some of the things you believe exist.
Huh?

I don't "believe" things. I go where evidence supports. To "believe" things means you're accepting them without evidence or proof.

So, what's the point of you not believing in something, like God when you can't prove everything that you claim exists

Replace "god" with "Zeus" and try that again.

sounds like you can't come to terms with the fact you're responsible for your own life.

:wtf: :wtf: We can't prove gravity? Are you one of those people that likes to make the statement, "science is a religion"?

Nah not all at. I was saying that he can't prove it exists and he believes in it. He said I can't prove to him that Gods exist as if he can prove to me the things he believe in.

People who never seen their real parents still believe they have parents, if they didn't have parents how would they be alive without someone giving birth To them or creating them. The same thing goes with God , you're here and that should be the only proof you need that there's a God.

I have.
Now wouldn't that imply that there are other types of religions out there?
:troll:The opposite of organized would be disorganized, or unorganized. Can you think of a term people misuse in place of "Unorganized Religion???

*Hint - The answer is "spiritual"
