Exactly, so I take what suits me and leave what doesn't. I'm probably just an atheist though, the spirituality in me is just selfishness to be honest. :ld:

Don't be honest to me.

Be honest with yourself.

I'm not asking you to become anything, I'm asking what you're believing and why.

From what I've seen so far, "spirituality" is just another man-made thing, believed to be better because you (in general) made it up.

spirituality is just that "general wonder" and unexplained shyt that people like to typify and gives liberally religious people some leeway so that they don't align themselves with things that put them in the "crazy" camp.

Just remember. If we're not defining what we're talking about then we're talking about nothing.

I think spirituality can be more than just being "in tuned" with a higher power outside an organized setting of a religion tho. It can mean being in touch with your own spirit and what not.

But generally that spiritual but not religious tidbit means I don't wanna subscribe to a particular religion but I claim to know truths about morality and stuff

It's bullshyt.
People who say that are just playing the middle.

Maybe I can accept that line from a Buddhist. Otherwise, if you're playing the middle you're either a coward or you haven't actually put in any serious thought about whether a deity exists.

Breh. You've said your piece. Over and over and over again. No one gives a fukk.

I love how religious people want to have their own little circle jerk but when someone comes in with an opinion they dont' like, then the open forum isn't appreciated anymore.

fukk outta here. :camby: :pacspit:

whats that got to do with people half-assing their religious belief?

Because you was saying how you can prove the things you believe in. You can't pove gravity exist but you believe in it. You can't prove God don't exist just like you cant prove some of the things you believe exist. So, what's the point of you not believing in something, like God when you can't prove everything that you claim exists.

Means they believe and pray to god but dont necessarily attend church and follow all the extra crap that RELIGION try to push onto you

What is all this "extra crap" that RELIGION tries to push on you?

You can be spiritual and not believe in a higher power :stopitslime:, you can also believe in a higher power but that "God", "Creator", etc doesn't necessarily fit into any kind of religion....

So you have your own self-created religion that you don't share with anyone else?

That's me. I think organized religion is bullshyt but I have my own spirituality that is not associated with any religion. You must be one of those types that thinks that someone who isn't Chrsitian is automatically atheist as if you have to be Christian or even follow a specific religion to believe in God, aren't you?

I'm not. But I am interested in having you explain how you came to that conclusion.

It's a false comparison which makes it an invalid statement. Religion is an organization, spirituality is a personal construct and not an actual "thing". Most of the times what they really mean is i'm not a member of any religous organization but i borrow elements from them to create my own religion. Basically saying they want to make God in their image, as opposed to the other way around.

Religion is an organization?
So "religious organization", is that some kind of redundant phrase?

it means I believe there is a high power and a relationship between me and that higher power, but I don't but into religion, religion and spirituality are not one in the same
Why don't you buy into religion?

:wtf: :wtf: We can't prove gravity? Are you one of those people that likes to make the statement, "science is a religion"?
