I'm sorry, I just don't see Travis Hunter as a #1 pick...

:francis: Sorry brehs, please change my mind...what am I not seeing??

We are talking about the NFL. The best of the best.

The top pick of the draft has to be either a generational talent, or a close to immediate franchise changer.

Travis Hunter truly is, and can be a PHENOMENAL corner. He is lengthy, hella athletic, great ball tracking skills, and still has much upside. Sauce Gardner/Trevon Diggs, and if he's better, than he's a game changer corner.

But would you pick Sauce at 1?

I think if there was ever a corner in NFL history, even in retrospect that could've gone one any year it was probably Coach Prime. Maybe an argument could possibly be made for Prime Revis, but outside of that low level possibility, NO.

Now let's take him as a Wideout. Outside of Randy Moss (I would take Moss first in many years) there is no WR ever that should've been the first pick. Maybe Megatron?

To me, if he only played one way (WR) his talents as a wideout are maybe George Pickens ceiling. But better than a Tyreek, Justin Jefferson, Jamaar Chase, who wouldn't be in the conversation of first pick of the NFL draft and they are ripping shyt up....

I don't go with the 2 players in one theory because I just don't believe it is possible to take my number one shut down corner and put him in big playoff games against Jamarr and Justin and DK and Terry etc, and then put him on offense full time and not expect to get my doors blown off on one of those ends.

And I don't like non-shifty guys at PR, KR, or my gimmick guy - he's a tall rangy guy, not a Stefon Diggs/Tyreek or even Ryan Williams (Alabama) type of guy, so I don't see the offensive explosion he could bring to the NFL.

I see a hall of fame potential corner, but I don't see that changing the direction of the Jaguars or Giants or Raiders or Patriots (currently some of the worst NFL teams)

It's a cool story, he seems like a fukking awesome kid, but outside of the marketing feel good aspect of this, I feel like if you were to pick Travis Hunter #1 in a NFL Draft, you will be looking for another job soon.

A QB is almost certainly going #1.

Was Bryce Young looked at as generational? Sam Bradford? Eric Fisher? Generational players don't come around every draft. Some drafts have more than one, sometimes there aren't generational players for years.

I personally believe that Travis will end up as the best player in this draft. He has a nose for the ball and makes big time plays when they're needed.

Travis Hunter is by far the best player in college.
I don't believe that. Best college player and best player in college mean two different things to me.

I would take 3 WRs (2 of them are freshman) over Hunter today at WR

And I do believe he is the best corner.

Again, a corner doesn't change a terrible franchise IMO.

QBs are the exception, and a franchise QBs are worth 10 of any other position on the field outside of a OL...And still worth 2-3 of them.

Obviously he's not going #1. That spot is mostly reserved for QBs now.
I checked a few sites (Walter Camp, NFL Draft Countdown etc)

Which led me to make this thread. Because I was surprised they all had him at 1. Hence here we are...

Plus a lot of the media personalities are saying it as well.

But if that's not reality then...:manny:

I HAVEN'T SAW ANYONE SAY
HE WAS GOING #1.

SHEDDUER/CAM GETS DRAFTED
BEFORE STRICTLY DUE TO THE
IMPORTANCE OF THE QB.

IF A NON QB NEEDING TEAM
GETS #1, THEY TRADE DOWN
AND TAKE HIM

Outside of your irrational hate for the soon to be greatest WNBA player ever

You're pretty logical

I also don't see Sheduer a top guy. I would draft Hunter top 5 but would not draft Shaduer first round.

Who would you compare Sanders to play style and skill set wise that would have you believe he could lead a team to a deep playoff run or consistent wins? (asking genuinely)

Show me these people, allegedly it happens every year. Can people please kill this “generational” bullshyt term. It’s worse than classic in hiphop in 2005

Most the mocks are saying

Giants- ward
Jags- hunter
Raiders - shedeur

Some have the Michigan CB kinda sneaking in there

It’s an ass draft..somebody has to be picked first
The possibility of Brady (as an owner) forcing the Raiders to sit Sanders to develop him will work wonders. By far, that is the perfect postion for him

But I also don't see his ceiling as a franchise guy. I think a lot of former players believe they can "create a player" and it never pans out. If he's not him, he is not him. (see Bronny, but obviosuly extreme scenerio) - Brady and Deion I believe think they can turn Shedeur into a top guy, but I feel like hes Tyrod Taylor. He has a nice long career BTW.

Wouldn't take Ty 1-2-3-4-5 though....

I'm sayin...

Generational used to be reserved for the Peyton Mannings, Derrick Henrys, Mahomes, etc. that literally come once a generation. Now almost every top 15 player at their position is being called generational.

  • Trevor Lawrence, QB
  • Joe Burrow, QB
