I'm sorry, I just don't see Travis Hunter as a #1 pick...

I'm sayin...

Generational used to be reserved for the Peyton Mannings, Derrick Henrys, Mahomes, etc. that literally come once a generation. Now almost every top 15 player at their position is being called generational.
I said "The top pick of the draft has to be either a generational talent, or a close to immediate franchise changer."

Now look at my post above. When a DE was taken #1, were those two not considered generational talents?

You take a qb or left tackle if you need them before you take him. He’s not going 1 but if there’s any draft he could it’s this one. I’m not too sold on taking Shedeur or Cam at 1 but someone has to go first.

The possibility of Brady (as an owner) forcing the Raiders to sit Sanders to develop him will work wonders. By far, that is the perfect postion for him

But I also don't see his ceiling as a franchise guy. I think a lot of former players believe they can "create a player" and it never pans out. If he's not him, he is not him. (see Bronny, but obviosuly extreme scenerio) - Brady and Deion I believe think they can turn Shedeur into a top guy, but I feel like hes Tyrod Taylor. He has a nice long career BTW.

Wouldn't take Ty 1-2-3-4-5 though....
Calling shedeur tyrod taylor is a disrespectful. Taylor's best college season was 2700 yards, 24 TDs 5 picks, 5 rushing Tds

Shedeur this season is just under 4k yards with at least 1 more game, 35 TDs (8 picks).

I've become a Shedeur fan from doubting him, only to see him continue to succeed. I like his game. Not sure if he's a sure fire franchise QB, but in the right circumstances, who knows.

Here are the last 20 number ones of the past 20 years. If not QBs, the top guy was considered a potential generational talent. If QB, was expected to be a SB winning long term franhise changer. Am I wrong?

  • Caleb Williams, QB
  • Bryce Young, QB
  • Travon Walker, DE
  • Trevor Lawrence, QB
  • Joe Burrow, QB
  • Kyler Murray, QB
  • Baker Mayfield, QB
  • Myles Garrett, DE
  • Jared Goff, QB
  • Jameis Winston, QB
  • Jadeveon Clowney, DE
  • Eric Fisher, OT
  • Andrew Luck, QB
  • Cam Newton, QB
  • Sam Bradford, QB
  • Matthew Stafford, QB
  • Jake Long, OT
  • JaMarcus Russell, QB
  • Mario Williams, DE
  • Alex Smith, QB
Don’t see much “generational”, I see average QBs

My post wasn't trying to call you out for saying "generational" more referring to media/people in general, overusing that term. I'm of the belief that there are probably 20 or so generational talents in the entire league.

That’s why they keep on killing these young draftees. People like “I thought Caleb/Lawrence/This/That was generational, why he playing like a normal rookie who’s resume is 3 years of playing in the best schools against other amateurs. Why isn’t he making the worst team in the league a contender?!” :snoop:

Just building peoples hype up to break them down

Outside of your irrational hate for the soon to be greatest WNBA player ever

You're pretty logical

I also don't see Sheduer a top guy. I would draft Hunter top 5 but would not draft Shaduer first round.

Who would you compare Sanders to play style and skill set wise that would have you believe he could lead a team to a deep playoff run or consistent wins? (asking genuinely)

Anyone taking Travis Hunter #1 is insane. The 2-way player novelty isn't going to work in the NFL and his small frame + lack of top end speed and quickness is a major red flag.

I checked a few sites (Walter Camp, NFL Draft Countdown etc)

Which led me to make this thread. Because I was surprised they all had him at 1. Hence here we are...

Plus a lot of the media personalities are saying it as well.

But if that's not reality then...:manny:

I think it's based on that's who they predict the jags to pick, but obviously they would be trading down in the scenario

Mahomes wasn’t seen as generational talent in college he was a project player with bad mechanics in the Tech system that inflated QBs. With high potential obviously

It’s not a strong draft for qbs. Might see a lineman go 1 overall. Travis is special, he’s a bit small tho. Would like to see him get to 195 lbs at least

Hmmm…I like this comparison.

Struggling with Joe but I think…I think I see where you are going.

He’s an enigma to me because he feels like a Tyrod (Ty now, not the athletic youthful version) or Jacoby Brissett to me, but bulked up a small bit and continued upward trajectory I can def see Warren (not mobile at all but a super accurate knowagable commander of the football)

Nice
