This year will have firmly established marvel as the alpha cinematic universe once and for all.

Sony was forced to fall back and let Marvel control spider man (marvel making so much bread they even let Sony keep the revenue, let that sink in for a minute).

BvS flopped. Xmen will surely flop.

The only saving grace will be suicide squad and luckily they were smart enough to release it far enough away from civil war.

Dr Strange gonna clear between 600 and 700 mil easy.
:comeon: stanley

It's not gonna flop xmen has a loyal following. It's not gonna do Disney #s either but this has never been a billion dollar franchise. It'll do 200 something domestic and strong business overseas

BOX OFFICE: CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Crossed $300 Million Domestic, Sits At $950 Million Worldwide

tumblr_o7bxvzNgOt1rov369o1_1280.png

Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War is expected to cross the $1 billion mark on Thursday or Friday. The film has also crossed another domestic milestone. Not bad for a 'kid from Brooklyn'.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Crossing $1B Global Box Office Today; #1 Movie Of 2016

Civil%20War%201.jpg

Captain America: Civil War has become only the 25th movie in history to reach the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, a feat not even a movie as big asBatman v Superman was able to achieve

As of right now, Captain America: Civil War has a worldwide haul of $991 million, but it will cross the $1 billion mark a little later today (or by the time you're reading this article). The first of Marvel's Phase 3 releases become the highest grossing movie on Wednesday when it pushed past Disney Zootopia to take the top spot, and it's now the fourth of their movies to reach this impressive benchmark.

Captain America: Civil War
hit $1 billion after just 24 days, the same time it took Avengers: Age of Ultron last year (that went on to make over $1.4 billion). Iron Man 3 grossed $1.2 billion in 2013, whileThe Avengers made over $1.5 billion the year before that. It's going to very interesting to see where exactly this one falls between all of those, especially with X-Men: Apocalypse around the corner.

With $314.3 million in North America and $676.7 million overseas, Captain America: Civil War has been a huge hit for Marvel, and they've emerged triumphant over their Distinguished Competition...

Thoughts Regarding The Depiction Of Black Heroism As Portrayed In Captain America:Civil War

Written by: Ziggiy

“Hiiipower: the three i’s represent heart, honor and respect. That’s how we carry ourselves in the world, period. Hiiipower, it basically is the simplest form of representing just being above all the madness, all the bullshyt. No matter what the world is going through, you’re always going to keep your dignity and carry yourself with this manner that it don’t phase you. Whatever you think negative is in your life. Overcoming that and still having that self-respect.

everybody raise three fingers in the air, the sky is falling the wind is calling, stand for something or die in the morning”

Kendrick Lamar

The concept of black heroism in mainstream American cinema has had a long, complex, and rather disappointing history. Often times, the “token” character of color within the genre of superhero films exists to serve one of two purposes, that to serve as comic relief or the “good friend” (servant) of the main protagonist on his/her path towards victory. 1998’s Blade, starring Wesley Snipes helped to establish a cunning, determined, and undeniably masculine and capable black hero within a world where only he possesses the capabilities to defeat vampiric entities hell bent on conquering the world. That film went onto gross more than $131.2 million worldwide, at the time considered a huge financial success, and spawning two more sequels. Ten years later, Will Smith’s Hancock; about a troubled amnesiac superhero struggling to rediscover his own sense of valor, grossed more than $620 million worldwide. These two examples could serve as proof that there is indeed an audience for black protagonists as leading material within the superhero/fantasy genre, and yet when Marvel Studios began laying the groundwork to birth their most popular comic properties into a full fledged cinematic universe, it would apparently take 7 years, 11 films, and over 9.3 BILLION DOLLARS in grosses before Kevin Feige (Studio Chief Of Marvel Films) and Disney decided it was time for Black protagonists to graduate from side-kick to lead. So when it was announced that Black Panther, the first Black superhero to debut in mainstream comics back in 1966, was to be featured prominently not only in Marvel’s 12th cinematic outing, Captain America: Civil War; but also star in his OWN forthcoming solo film, it was met with an outcry of jubilance….and also trepidation. This was not the first time a major Hollywood studio (Disney) had introduced a bonafide black “lead” character into the mythos of an enormously popular franchise, only to portray that character as an emasculated coward whose entire existence served to highlight the strengths of his white counterparts. And with that in mind, the less said about Star Wars: The Force Awakens Finn, the better.

:salute: @Ziggiy

:ehh:

Thor was always the weakest of the Marvel lineup I hope this one does well.

And I dont get that.... cuz I went back and watched Thor 2 and the movie was a solid movie to me.

The villain was EVERYTHING that so called Marvel haters bytch about. Stakes that people claim arent there were there.

The villain was powerful, he came to Thor's home which is full of POWERFUL soldiers, caused major havoc, killed a BUNCH of folks, killed the QUEEN of that world... and this was all before he even got a power up. Even Odin to a degree was like :mindblown::whoa: Cuz he DAMN sure aint go after him immediately.
