Only problem with that notion is that they hedged their bet to a service that was always going to be difficult to get their ROI based on the cost to produce content. For that reason, it never made financial sense to crank out as many Marvel shows for the streaming service that they did.

Of course the pandemic forced their hand, but some of knew what the end result was going to be the moment their plans were first announced especially considering the attachment wasn't going to be there as much after Endgame.
They thought they could get close to Netflix subscriber numbers thus making it worth it. They may have been wrong but that was the goal of everyone who started a streamer to be a cash machine like Netflix. Disney isn't the only company to make that mistake.

There's no may have about it. They were wrong hence them being in the situation that they are in now. It never made sense splitting the multi-verse aspect between movies and TV shows. The multiverse aspect is already complicated to some and tying it to TV shows that they might not even watch would only make things worse and reduce interest.

If some of us on here knew what the end result would be, then these multi-billion companies should have known that as well especially considering why cable was creating in the first place.

They, MAX, Paramount, Peacock should have all known what you already did. It's a wonder you aren't in the E suite at one of these companies.

I'm not saying it's over for the MCU but if it is then this is how it was destined to end up. The end of the MCU isn't going to be some grand planed out moment where it goes out on top. It's going to be Disney squeezing every last dime from it until the quality drops and or the fans lose interest. They always were going to ride this till the wheels fell off.

That's what happens when a product that needs creativity to exist is forced to continue to exist in perpetuity because it makes money. At some point because it's not allowed to end it loses it magic. The fact that this movie was released says all that needs to be said. Until the bottom falls out these movies will continue to be released even if they're trash.

It’s not. Everyone treats every IP like it’s Infinity War. Or End Game.

People expect every movie to be a perfect 10 before they even go see it. People just don’t go to movies anymore. They do trailer reactions, talk about leaks, talk about first week projections, read or watch reviews all before going to see the movie.

The market has changed basically.

Even if this movie was terrible it was still going to come out. They aren't willing to Batgirl this thing because it's trash. Quality or not the show must go on because milking every last drop is more important than talking the L and protecting brand goodwill. The executives saw this thing and knew it was mediocre and pushed it out the door anyway.

And even if it is terrible….. I think it’s cowardly to give up and run.

Learn from it, find out what the pain points are and go back to make approvements

It isn’t just this movie.

The infinity stones drove the first 3 phases. Thanos was the overall villain. And after introducing the OG Avergers in 2012, they helped carry the franchise.

All of that is gone, now they’re trying to figure out how to replace each layer.

They underestimated a lot. And you can’t fault them. Phase 3 was :wow:

Marvel has so many weapons in their arsenal they even if they fall off, it wouldn’t be for very long.
