Why Caberete? I mean it's a good choice I love the town but it's kinda small. It's not Sosua but you'd retire with your wife? Or do you mean wifey as in favorita?
Add on to Research If you're stuck between two countries and either not able to take long vacays in both or you did and still not able to make a decision you could always split your time between both. Again that's why you need to pick a region so that travel is easier between two countries.
Or you can go off GDP and GDP per capita. GDP means the size of the economy meaning how much money is produced. This matters because ther bigger the economy the more stuff it has and the more it's like america. GDP per capita is the size of the economy divided among the people equally (so to speak) GDP matters way more than per capita. For example the GDP is way bigger in Kenya than in the DR and there's more shyt to do for example you can go Ice skating in Nairobi you can't it Santo Domingo. A nice Gym is cheaper In Nairobi than SD But the GDP per capita is way bigger in the DR. The slums in Kenya are on another level than DR Slums. The massive inequality kinda fukks with you overtime.
Just things to keep in mind while doing your research.

Well I haven't been to Medellin (yet) but Cali blows the DR out of the water, I'm talking about Riots and barracades Cali shyt is dirt cheap compared to the DR. even with gringo priing Airbnb's are 100 to 120 dollars cheaper than Santo Domingo The current exhange rate is 3700 TO A DOLLAR!!!! that shyts on the DR's 58 to 1 rate. Food is cheaper here, but the DR has almost everything that the US has Cali doesn't But an Arizona Green tea is like 88 cents in Colombia and it's like 3 dollars in the DR Islands are usually more expensive.
Obviously you lose the beach unless you go to Carty. But Cali isn't as Hot as the DR especially the south coast gets in the dog days of summer. the Dr started to get hot when I left last month it's less humidity here.
Where the DR wins is in english speaking and the cooperativeness of the women. As you may know you can easily "import" a girl to the North coast from the south and vice versa meaning she'll hop a bus, But buses only take a maximum of 4.5 hours. But that being said non hoes are very meh here meaning you have to do more swiping to holla at regular girls. Chicks at work aren't gonna talk to you like they would in the DR bytches here don't speak. You just have to put more footwork in here to holla.
But in Meddy facebook is on fire. but bytches might scope and rob you in Meddy, not saying that couldn't happen in the DR that's pretty unlikely because the DR depends on Tourism way more than Colombia does.
Have you spent significant time in Caberete? Cab is possibly one of the most beautiful places I've been to quiet, nice beach good infrastructure. BUT. It kinda has the stink of Sosua on it. It seems like a lot of german nikkas live there you don't really see many local girls so you'd probably end up at the Malecon in Puerto Plata (not a bad city but the internet is slow) or Sosua beach and unless you're cool with tricking It's damn near impossible.
That being said I did meet a Black Half Guadeloupe chick in Sosua in all places that I smashed for free. She told me she was willing to come through to SD but she never did.

When they say travel broadens you that shyt is real, You will get Red pilled as shyt on the road.
For example like I said before no matter how you think she feels She probably doesn't "Love" you. That being said she'll treat you better than most chicks in the west who loved your dirty drawers.
You'd think with welfare and the basics taken care of and no slut shaming in the west p*ssy would be easier to get than in the "conservative" 3rd world.

Feminists are kind of gatekeepers to p*ssy, It should be down to if the chick likes you or not. The "you're broke" is a goofy ass insult in the west where everyone has the basics covered. But it's easier to smash in the 3rd world because generally societies in the Global south assume that you have needs and wants and a chick is OK with providing you that. It's a big deal in the 3rd world if a chick goes to a local 5 star restaurant where the bill may come out to 30 to 40 dollars or so. A middle class chick would only go if there's a major celebration because 20 dollars would be big money to her.
You take a chick to say a restaurant at say the Marriott and she'd have no problem with sucking you off in appreciation. Like I said nothing is totally free and that works both ways so she doesn't really expect you to take her to her version of fine dining for nothing.

I’d import from Santo Domingo...have like 4 wifeys that I’m cool with. I work remote so I’ll have them hop on the bus for the weekend. I want a slower peaceful life.

That would totally work, established relationships with chicks that can only come through when you want to see them, a clean quiet and pleasant upscale community, an excellent beach you seem like you have all your bases covered. You'd need a at least 3 reliable drivers or a car to avoid hustling ass cab drivers.
But yes you do need to check out Medellin because you can get the same lifestyle for cheaper (although there's way more crime)

yeah man. Been to sosua/puerto plata area 7 times and have access to few drivers...one is super honest (tested him a few times and he’s just an honest man trying to make a living)

In my opinion, even though you are asking the other bro.. Yes...because you can’t roam around freely as a gringo in major cities...in sosua, they have police there to “protect” tourists...even tho the police may shake you down for a 1000 pesos lol if you do something stupid...
In major cities, I traveled via Uber at night. During the day I was walking around blue mall and restaurants in colonial zone (touristy area)...

You seem to have a good plan, I'd check out Colombia just to see if you like it better.
Side note my Airbnb Host is bushing his old lady, turns out she wants to turn their condo into a thot hotel. He did the one women man thing holding her down and her grown ass lazy son and is deciding to pull the trigger.
