i've seen that here in Mass as well and from people who has been more left.

the middle class sees democrats fight for illegal immigrants as a slap in the face, especially when dems aren't saying shyt in regards to keeping jobs in the U.S (a thing republicans and Trump ran with even if they were bullshytting), higher wages, single payer etc

The illegals issue could single-handedly put us over the top.

People are not paying attention to how the average person is listening to that shyt.

You know when you think about it OP kinda has a point. Every city has this dynamic. Look at my state New York New York () The city is heavily liberal the outlying suburbs are mixed. When you leave downstate New York and head upstate it's basically Alabama. Major cities are liberals,suburbs mixed and the rural small towns are conservative as fukk.

i completely agree with you on this, illegal immigrants shouldn't be the scape goat they are just a pawn being exploited, but illegal immigration does affect the working class in the long run.

In a world divided and ruled by the bourgeoisie, yes, but the ultimate goal of socialism is a borderless world with cooperative production and equality among workers. So it's a matter of short-term vs. long-term thinking, and short-term thinking won't be sufficient to overcome the rule of the bourgeoisie I understand your perspective though. Obama actually campaigned heavily in small towns and rural counties in the Midwest. Look at the blue counties in MN, OH, WI, MI, IA. Romney won 77% of the counties in the country.
