Flat bench uses the back as helper muscles. You have more leverage while lying flat on your back. Incline bench isolates the chest more and uses more of the shoulders as helper muscles more than the back.Might be a dumb question but what makes it harder than FB?
I used to do dumbbell incline for a good while, then recently switched to barbell incline, and I can definitely feel it hitting my upper chest way more.
Just did incline close grip...could barely rep out 135

I do them and like them but they make my shoulders go
I dont think I could bring the bar to my chest with closer grip. Mite just be time to switch to dumbbells.May need to have yoru grip a bit closer, i used to get that also but closer grips seems to have helped
