If you are black and graduated/attended college, did you attend an HBCU?

Good for you but the study shows otherwise :francis:

i know one girl with a comp. sci. degree...has a part time job selling cellphones. all of the people i know that are making "good" money went to a PWI. i don't understand paying twice the amount of a PWI education to get an equivalent degree.

Who does this? This is a lie, my HBCU was way cheaper than their PWI counterparts

i just told you the HBCUs in my area are 80k and 100k, and then the outlier one is 20k. the PWIs are between 30-60k.

http://www.dillard.edu/images/Tuition Fees - Room and Board 2015 - 2016.pdf

Estimated Tuition & Fees for one semester:

New Student Commuter $8593
Continuing Student Commuter $8126
New Student On Campus $13639 (double occupancy)
Continuing Student On‐Campus $13,172 or $13,512 (double occupancy)

8126 x 7 + 8593= $65475. This is not inclusive of books, which is another few thousand over 4 years.

http://www.xula.edu/fiscal/tuition.php

The cost calculator for a commuting student for 2012-13 is $27300 (full year) x 4= $109200.

Univ. of New Orleans= $3700 x 8= $29600.

I went to a HBCU because the cost of tuition for the level of education was a steal . I was an out of state student on scholarships and graduated without debt. The College of Business at my school had a good staff, good reputation, and attracted alot of employers. What people forget is, the same major companies that people claim you need to attend a PWI to work for, aggressively recruit at HBCUs to maintain a diverse workforce. (But they recruit harder at some HBCUs vs others)

HBCUs :salute:

http://www.tsu.edu/About/Administra...aduates-pass-bar-exam-at-astonishing-rate.php

The results of the February 2015 Texas Bar Exam results have been released. With a 64% pass rate, first time Texas Bar Exam takers from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University (TMSL) exceeded first time pass rates from other American Bar Association accredited schools that passed at a 61% rate. Since 2014, Texas and many other state bar exams have become more difficult to pass the first time. TMSL’s first time pass rate was better than University of Houston’s and Saint Mary’s.
