According to yall a multiple sports athletes like Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson probably would have sucked if they learn how to play soccer at a early age, because they are too athletic and don't have enough intellectual skills.

you're still on this, despite no one ever actually saying these things :skip:

what a troll, 5 star performance

We would be dominant. Our best athletes don't even think about soccer. Imagine a Lebron as a stud defender, barry sanders as a foward, cp3/deron/westbrook in the midfield. We would be sick.

Exactly but a lot dudes on here are going to catch feelings for your comment through.

Imagine if Prime Time started playing soccer at 7 years old. :win:

:childplease: @ BOBN thinking Deion Sanders is a bum. Prime Time is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Dude also could have played basketball or run track.

:what:

I think what people are trying to say...is that deion and bo jackson's freakishly athletic combination of speed and power...are not as important for soccer as they are for football or baseball or basketball.

I dont know where the intelligence thing comes from....in soccer theres lots of decision making tho.
for what its worth, playing in the midfield is like being a mini QB for 90 minutes.

i would get rid of offsides, but thats just me. you dont penalize a wide receiver when he blows by a defense and catches a ball. if the defender cant keep a guy from blowing by him, thats on him. refs miss this call enough anyways, take the burden completely off the refs and let one guy be able to be offsides. also its 2012, its about time to instill goal line technology to review goals. unacceptable to miss stuff this game changing, and its an easy as fukk fix

steve nash a canadian soccer/hockey player didnt pick up a basketball until end of middle school :manny: still became a great PG

doesnt work other way tho :lolbron: you cant not play soccer when youre 11-12 and expect to amount to shyt

if you want to look at how america values athleticism over anything else, lets look at successful black quarterbacks in the NFL. we can count them on one hand really.
and that's the fault of college and high school coaches who fall in love with athleticism of black QBs and dont fukking work on the black qbs actual passing skills. and when they get to the league, it is too late.

I'm through with this thread. :heh:

So, someone is good enough to play football, baseball, and basketball. But he wouldn't be good enough to play soccer. :skip: :stopitslime: :dead:

Running up and down a field for 90 min with no one scoring take more skill than football, baseball, and basketball. :skip: :deadrose:

its about to happen actually...in fact, yesterday I think FIFA agreed to use it on the next world cup

as far as offside goes...getting rid of it is utter nonsense.

its not about the attacker running by the defender (which is actually allowed :wtf:) its about preventing players from cherry picking in front of goal.

soccer without offsides :dead:

forget it, they should also ban it in the NFL too.:lolbron:

because your "argument" is stupid

lets use your logic here

tiger woods made shytload of money golfing.

so why arent other athletes trying to golf if they could make hundreds of millions ?

:ohhh: does putting a ball into a hole with no defender in your face take more skill then football baseball and basketball ?

he also has amazing technical skills, great finishing ability, and is two footed.

The only way it would ever work is if US soccer completely revamped the system it has. That means put kids in professional training at a young age and get good coaching to kids when young. Put youngsters on smaller fields and have 7v7 games to improve ball skills and speed of thought. So many things would have to change in this country for the US to be a really good nation.

Japan took the sport serious around the same time the US started too, but instead of relying on their old system, they brought in coaches from Holland to teach kids the game. Now they have genuine world class players. The best coaches should be at that level, which is not how America operates in any sport except tennis and some other olympic sports.

And the athletes the US have currently are very good. Before his knee injuries, Oguchi Onyewu was very fast and was 6'4" 210 at centerback. Demarcus Beasley was one of the fastest players in the world when he was young and never progressed far because he had no right foot and was a shyt crosser of the ball. There is a kid that plays for a German team who had a top 5 in any sport Nike Sparq test. He cant break into that German team's first 11.

:dead: @ the bold and :dead:@ demarcus beasley and Onyewu being examples of top tier american athletes
