Watching the fight a couple times over, fukk everything else. All I know is this was a great ass fight. As far as pure entertainment value the shyt went exactly as expected. It was a technical slugfest til the end. I gained respect for both guys. Both did things that impressed the shyt out of me and both showed serious flaws. Canelo's counter punching, defense, and reflexes were insane. Even with no energy he still managed to slip many devastating punches by centimeters. His stamina was just pitiful and as long as it's not improved he's gonna struggle with all the top guys at 160. If he can fix it, the sky is the limit for him.

Little g's jab, determination, and stamina were all ridiculous. His sharpness And boxing ability in the center of the ring wasn't very impressive. Neither was his ability to cut the ring off. He pretty much let canelo go everywhere he wanted and just followed him around. His ring cutting is suppose to be one of the best in the sport so that was surprising.

Either way, these guys both took more punishment in this fight than i think they ever have. Can't remember either of their faces looking like that post fight. Both were visibly hurt during the fight and managed to eat the shots and keep going. I felt like the only shyt keeping them going was the magnitude of the event. They both knew how much they had to lose. That 12th round was straight up classic. Both guys threw 65 punches and landed 23. They left everything they had in that final round.

I still think little g is limited as a boxer but he makes the most of his talent. Really utitilzes everything in his arsenal. And canelo took shots that probably sleep most guys. Same with little g. I still believe they both have the ability to KO each other, but that night they just had some extra shyt running through their veins. I like to shyt on the shookboys and their fighter....and I will continue to do so. But little g is a muthafukkin demon in the ring. Can't even front on that. All in all, I can't wait for the rematch:yeshrug:...... I'm sure they'll deliver another classic.

GGG to me is in a "weird" spot. He has to wait until Canelo rings them for a rematch which may be in May or next September and while he's only been in 2 career "wars" (his last two scraps) so wear and tear shouldn't be an issue, 36 years old is 36 years old. It's not like he's an athletic specimen like Floyd where age doesn't "affect" him.

I'm wondering should he heal up and wait for the rematch whether it's May or even September 2018 or take a touch up or ring up BJS and try and get something going for January/February. He's in a tough spot :lupe:

If he's smart he'd wait. No way you can jeopardize that kind of money. Anything can happen. Could fukk around and break a hand or some shyt. But if he did have another defense that would tie him with Hopkins, then the rematch canelo would be able to keep him from breaking the record. Would add a whole new layer to the story:lupe:

Canelo tank was on E. If GGG attacked the body effectively early, Canelo would have been Kovalev'd

That's possible,

He did work the body to an extent, but I don't think he was going to go balls to the wall with body shots since he respected the countering from Canelo.

Fukk canelo he beat him soundly, he can make 3 mill elsewhere, let the diva face charlo, or another killer and flex that a side

Make no sense to rush fight two, fight one was dominant, and canelo would get his ass whooped again he fighting like in pre ss2 ultra form at mw, wild slow single shots, fight for 45 secs a round, no longer having the ability to consistently use his once beautiful jab....

GGG has to fight regularly to be effective. He reminded me of Hagler when he fought Leonard. GGG gave away the first four rounds trying to box & shake off the rust. GGG is the champ so forget waiting on Canelo for a rematch

GGG has weird ass stamina. He will look like he is huffing and puffing in a round and still goes all out. In all his fights on HBO we can probably say he has taken less than 5 rounds off, but sometimes he will look tired every round but keeps throwing 70 punches.

Maybe it his stamina is like his chin. If you mentally don't let it affect you, you can push yourself beyond your normal capabilities.

I think this fight proved to any one who had doubts about GGG that he has heart. Dude wanted to win and didn't back down when given his shot. I think this was his fight to prove, and 24/7 hit on it, was that despite any career mismanagement, etc...dude has always wanted the big fights and he isn't going to lay down.

Part 2 is going to be crazy. Have to say that I was hyped as fukk for part 1, and I will be no less hyped for part 2. Let's make it part of a 2018 that hopes to carry over the greatness of 2017.

They showed championship mettle...I was surprised that Canelo took those shots and didn't stop his game plan. That was most surprising. Tougher than i thought..it gets to a point that when someone makes million and surrounded by easy pretty Mexican women..they lose what made them stand out in the first place...something always suspected of prime Oscar..especially during the Vargas build but Canelo actually was a man who definitey took the training seriously. He's no Sugar Ray Leonard or Hagler, stamina wise, in the 12th round though.

Seeing it from this angle, the punch wasnt that big after all. If canelo threw that straighter he probably could have hurt him. shyt was a looping right hand that connected on the downward slide. And little g was able to roll with it at the last second and lessen the damage.

Shows what experience can do. These guys were rolling with punches like it was nothing.
