Canelo won this fight easily. GGG should actually be the one grateful for the draw. Setting the pace and applying spatial pressure is different than applying pressure with your actual work rate. I'm convinced most people really don't know shyt about boxing. For some reason defense isn't looked at as a skill and a part of scoring a fight. Canelo spent too much time on the ropes for my liking, but his defense was true up against the ropes. All these talking heads on ESPN hating on the decision....boxing ain't dead and not going anywhere. Stop acting like bad scores haven't been apart of boxing since the beginning. Byrd fukked up the night with here score, but no one should be mad at a draw to this level they are. Theodore Atlas about to pop a blood vessel.

Canelo gets a new road work guy and he'll beat GGG with ease next time.
Well, this is REALLY what it's about though. If this fight had been scored a draw, but Byrd had it Canelo 115-113 or something more in line with that, you have people disappointed that the fight is a draw but you don't have this type of reaction to it and the corruption angle.

I don't even think Byrd was bought off, she's just a shyt judge her scores are always way off from everyone else. She's got bad scorecards in MMA fights with nikkas making $25k to show, $25k to win, no high stakes involved, its just in her DNA to be a fukk up.

You know it's bad when Top Rank wanted her off a card

according to max, he tries to speak english to be more appealing to attract more fans. thats why he's always mentioning "mexican style" and shyt like that. Canelo doesn't have to do that since he's mexican.
I can understand that but does it really need it at this point in his career ? Nothing will change much with him for his future paydays imo. His interview are just gimmicky at this point and he doesn't even reply to Max's questions, he just placed all his trademark words and that's all. "Mexican style", "big drama show", "big/true fight" etc are the only thing he's been saying for years now. I'm not a native English speaker so I understand the difficulty of speaking it but either he needs to be serious with English learning or just forget about it at this point.

Ehhh boxing took an L overall

Most hyped fight in years and it was a disappointment marred in controversy
The fight itself wasn't disappointing at all, that was a lot of high level skill being displayed in the ring tonight. I had no issue with the end result since I had it a draw myself, just didn't like the route to get there with the 118-110 score. Folks will complain for a couple days and we will hear the usual "this is another black eye for boxing" spiel...and then boxing will get right back to business and the rematch in May will sell >1M buys.

Damn, everybody is so mad about that judges score. I dont get why?

I am watching the fight and Max was the only person not dikkriding GGG so hard. He even said there could be judges who see the rounds differently because Max himself was seeing it a bit diff while Lampley and Lederman were being fans.

Canelo did a great job of catching a good amount of those GGG punches on his gloves and arms. Some of those thuds you hear are not a landed punch, but a blocked punch. I thought Canelo was winning actually. I was laughing at the fact Lederman saw the fight so differently. I even posted about his 7-2 card going into the 10th because there is no way Canelo only won two rounds. Hell at one point Canelo was walking to GGG. The biggest problem was Canelo laying on those ropes as he was getting tired.

I dont know, I feel like too many people are giving GGG extra credit for aggression, but Canelo had him whiffing a good amount of those punches on the ropes earlier

I don't know why Teddy is still doing this. He's just on sports center after every fight screaming about corruption.

They should do away with draws in boxing. 1 round overtime winner takes all. :yeshrug:
Yes indeed. This whole draw thing is getting ridic. A winner must be declared.

Or keep draws, but make the figths have to be an odd number of rounds, so generally there is a winner, unless there were so knockouts and standing 8s, which would make the fight score diff and thus give the points for a draw to make sense.

This is exactly the kind of Shyt I hate about boxing

GGG won this fight EASY
I can accept a 115-113 split decision but a draw where one judge said 118-110 with no knockdowns.. wow

They robbed him.. Point blank

The fight was good but no way am I paying for a rematch .. It wasn't THAT good and the ending (scoring) made it even worse in my opinion

I Didn't watch Floyd's last two fights and after this
I may not buy another (PPV) fight ever
