Here is just one example:
Breaking Down How New England Can Use Familiar Tactics to Confuse Peyton Manning | Bleacher Report

The Pats always had Peyton's number. I remember how Ty Law had got 3 picks (Peyton threw 4 in all) in one game against Peyton in the postseason. The teams Peyton lost to in the Post season where 3-4 defensive teams (easier to confuse QBs) like Pats, Steelers, and Chargers. Every year he lost to one of these teams in the post season except for the Saints in the Superbowl.

Coming into this year....Manning was 5-2 in the last 7 times out against New England, including the AFCCG in 06. (4-2 if you don't wanna count 08 since Brady was out)
He hasn't looked nearly as lost against New England recently. Knowing this, don't you think it's more plausible that New England just had the right players to be able to beat the Colts at the time? I mean they did win 3 SBs.

Steelers and Chargers had more to do with being able to get pressure(something you do with all QBs), not necessarily confusing him.

There's always 2 schools of thought...

-One group rates QB's by stats.
-One group rates QB's by wins & loses & championships.

My question to all is would u rather have the stats or the rings? Would u rather be Montana or Marino? :manny:

As far as Eli goes I think he's a damn good QB who has a serious chance to make a run at a couple more rings. :obama:

However he's constantly in the middle of a battle between those who want to underrate him and those who want underrate him.

And y'all underrating Peytons clutchness. We going to act like Peyton don't have the most game winning drives and come backs

The thing people forget about Eli is his D was on the field at the end of both superbowls and stopped the Pats. Not taking anything away from Eli as I think he's elite, but dude's D in those Super Bowl wins was legendary.

Peyton > Eli and it's not even close

Rings really don't mean shyt. Marino has no rings and is one of the greatest Qb's ever.

Center self, inner self
Peyton routinely preformed poorly in the post season. Teams would often unleash a defensive scheme he had not seen all season and Peyton would be out there confused. When Peyton is making all of those adjustments at the line of scrimmage, why is that he gets all of the credit when it is a successful play? Shouldn't this argument be used against him when it is unsuccessful and his offense struggles? It wasn't like Harrison and Wayne was dropping passes. It was the playcalling and that was all on Peyton who kept making the wrong playcalls bc he was confused. Basically, Peyton can handle team's basic defensive schemes but he couldn't handle their complicated defensive schemes

Truth be told Indy won dispute Peyton's poor play. The year they won the superbowl was bc the Defense went beast mode (Bob Sanders was back) in the post-season.

Don't agree, breh

If you gonna do that then you can't belabor the "look at who he's played with" point then either. If you wanna put it all on Peyton that's fine, just be consistent. Dont' try to diminish his numbers and accomplishments by harping on the teammates that you don't wanna talk about when it comes to the L's.

And actually they were dropping passing and having trouble getting open when playing against physical teams. Just look at Marvin's postseason numbers. In 16 games aka a season's worth of games the nikka had 65 rec for 883 yds and 2 TD. That sound like a HOFer to you? The Colts as a whole, but especially the recievers folded against physical teams. Peyton had his struggles to, no doubt however I'm not sure what QB wouldn't struggle under pressure with recievers struggling to get open or hold on to the ball.

Me personally I call it how I see it and don't subscribe to whatever the popular thought is. Championships, especially in football, are all about a total team effort and good fortune. It doesn't matter how good a qb is if his team doens't have a complete effort and fortune doesn't go his way he ain't winning.

If Indy can win a SB despite Peytons' poor play doesn't that demonstrate how winning SBs are about far more than QB performance? Peyton has had numerous playoffs where he performed better individually but the one year he won was the year where everybody else played their ass off and all the bounces went his way.

And here's why^^^^^^^^^^
