What an embarrassment they are. I wonder how bad things have to get before the league office tells Hal he needs to get it together or they’ll be forced to give him the Frank McCourt treatment. Under his ownership the greatest sports franchise in the world is bordering on total irrelevance even in a city where one hockey team has 1 title in 70 years and the other hasn’t won its division since 1987-88, the 2 football teams have both been the worst in their conferences for a decade and one has been a joke for 50 years, and both basketball teams are traditionally dysfunctional messes who haven’t done shyt in the postseason in 20-25 years each.

I’m not saying he’s at risk now, but they’re unwatchable at the moment and the fans aren’t gonna keep paying these huge prices to watch a team with 2 viable hitters and 1 viable starter. When the stadium attendance looks like Tampa territory, that shyt catches people’s attention.

For now, but what happens when they’re just as bad and brittle next year and spend most of tue season fighting to stay out of last place while 5-7 guys struggle to hit .240 and keep their OBP above .300 while they’re near last in nearly every meaningful offensive category like the past few years? What happens if judge starts to decline in the coming years? Hal has allowed Cashman to make a mess that a great GM would take several years to clean up and is leaving the guy who has become the most toxic figure arguably in the history of New York sports to keep running the ship into the ground.
