They fukked the games ecosystem up with this buying spree bullshyt... why couldnt just focus on the game studios they already had instead of trying to cripple playstation...

Because they know they can't compete. If they have all this money why don't they invest in forming first party studios and creating new IPs? Instead they want to create a Netflix like solution for gaming snd just buy up developers so their games will be on there. But just like Netflix it suffers from having too much mediocre content. Mediocre games don't sell systems. Halo Infinite should have been a finished game that was a slam dunk. Yet they gave it back to the same incompetent studio that made the previous Halo that sucked. The OG Xbox didn't do that great either. Xbox would be dead by now if Sony hadn't fumbled the ps3 launch so bad and gave Microsoft an layup with the price to sell Xbox 360 consoles.

Most people that casually game do not have a need for playing dozens of games a year, they want like 3-5 games max and one or two of those are usually games they bought the year before.

Yeah, its the mobile influence on the console gaming business. Its wack af but old heads are still gonna be buying full priced games when they want them and the real money spenders are gonna be gen z with mtx, straight up siphoning money from them

But on the real, the customer is starting to smarten up with the funds, than with getting the next big thing. Let's face it, the gaming industry is over saturated and what does Microsoft do...make Game Pass a thing, and it becomes even more overbearing, thus cheapening the gaming market.

For 9.99, folks can play a damn near entire library of games, but the majority of them are on some FOMO shyt. Also factor in the lack of time folks can play these video games (work, family, leaf intake, and sleeping). It's getting to the point where gaming itself became this high maintenance whore that keeps asking for money, but won't wash her ass when it comes down to some coochie at night.

I'm thankful to enjoy My Deck and Switch because even the PC gaming aspect is tainted with greed from developers and Nvidia asking for a grip for a fukking graphics card.

Gabe saved me money to even build another rig after the hell I went through over the course of a few years.

Bottom line, its fitting to get ugly and there will be some games that will bankrupt publishers, and put a black eye on the industry. Meanwhile, this marsupial will be overlooking the chaos and stan wars from the tree playing WOW. Old ass game but tons of content and shyt to do

Yeah, I can legit see it if Phil Spencer doesn't get his act together because shareholders might force their hands to back out. The damage xbox one did to them might be too much when they lost a good chunk of fanbase in the US which is their main market. I like the brand, but it's telling when it's been 8+ years with Phil in charge and he has exclusive output this poor. I don't want to sound too negative, but I think the clock is ticking and now there's no excuse when they have 23+ studios.

That's the Series S fault. They were selling it at a reduced price and that brought revenue down.

Xbox Studios leadership is so incompetent it's embarrassing. I have no qualms about Phil Spencer leading the division overall but Matt Booty clearly is in over his head running these studios.

PlayStation gamers are excited about actual video games titles that get announced and released at a steady clip. Xbox gamers are excited about the company acquiring another publisher and the idea that might get them actual games in the future. It's a self own. It's indirectly saying I don't even know what that gets us but anything is better than what we have right now.
