Didn't he just sell 115k+ first week with barely any promo? (Which he didn't want that much) How could he fall off already?

Album was weak. I liked it at first, but not much really stuck in the end. His guests all washed him too. I don't think it's over for him, cause his appeal will always be his image...but I legit feel like dude has nothing else to say. The most interesting bar was about Rita Ora giving him top...

Breh, you might wanna get checked out for Bipolar Stan Disorder.

If you a stan you supposed to love every second of every song regardless, ride or die.

You're half steppin here.

This is exactly why I dug him originally. I simply liked the beats he'd choose. Then I got into him more and more as an overall artist. He knows how to put together a cohesive project. Whatever direction he takes his music, he does so in a thorough fashion. I like this new album. A little long but still dope.

And I still love the cloud rap/dreamscape type vibes. Wish more artists would spit over these types of beats.

I'll continue to support.

@Bless't I know you've been into rap for the longest, similar to me if not longer. That dreamscape shyt.... never heard anything like it in all my years of listening to hip hop. Does Rocky's stuff sound like anything you're familiar with? Fugees kinda fukked with it on "Ready or Not", but I don't remember anyone else sampling that Enya/dream pop type shyt. Clams took that vibe and went super left.

It's just weird to abandon a sound that is so fukking unique and brilliant.

I'm being critical and possibly too harsh but I'm just disappointed.

I skimmed through it, haven't given it a full listen yet. I will say though, I don't think it's connecting with his fanbase. I saw Rocky at the Roots Picnic over the weekend. Most of his set were songs from ALLA and the crowd was :dwillhuh: during every new song, no reaction whatsoever. then when he finally ended his set with Peso the crowd was :krs:

he did mention it was his first time performing ALLA but normally you'll see some kind of reaction from a crowd even if its their first time hearing a song. but the crowd was absolutely dead

I'm not surprised at all.

have you considered that maybe..... SirBiatch isn't a stan?

I know that may be a giant revelation in these parts, but I've been into hip hop before stans arrived. In our era, we raved about our favorite artists' great shyt, and shytted on our favorite artists weak shyt. This idea of liking everything your favorite artist drops is ridiculous.

never understood the hype personally but i felt the same way about Future when he came on the scene with the new name as well as Young Thug.

i feel they are all time period artist, they fit in well with the era of music they emerged in but do any of them have the ability to stay relevant when melodic rap dies? and that's happening a lot faster than people think.

Well you yourself have said that you're a Rocky stan so thats why I used that terminology haha.

Maybe I'm trying to revolutionize stanning, but if you ask me, there ain't even a singe snare hit on a Travis Scott record that sounds off :yeshrug:

I agree about that particular "sound". I think its tight af. Rocky's beat selection is pretty unique. Thats why I personally love A.L.L.A. because he went in a whole other direction. I like when artists grow out of their comfort zones though. But if he would have stuck with Clams for a whole album would I be disappointed? Hell nah. They're nice together. Period.

I personally have not listened to a rapper who picks these types of beats consistently. Yeah, here and there, artists over the years have taken that sound and made one record on there album but thats it. Drake takes it to the softer side of that 'airy' ambience with him and 40 but Rocky is the Mobb Deep to Drake's ATCQ when it comes to one another's 'sound'. He's grittier and grimier.

I cant think of any other rappers who utilize this sound. Other musicians, sure, but not rappers. I personally would love to spit over an album of Clams beats. It's a lane up and coming rappers should take advantage of.

You're becoming annoying
He just wants attention. You might as well give it to him.

@SirBiatch overanalyzing A$AP Rocky albums over a glass of 02 Merlot, what the fukk is wrong with you :mjlol:

In here soul searching to "p*ssy, Money, Weed" :mjlol:

Please, tell me more about how "Purple Swag" speaks on the caste system in India as well as the decline of regionalism in urban markets :mjlol:

A$AP Rocky decided to test his range instead of going backwards. Now you're all in your feelings because it's not the trendy hipster shyt from LiveLoveA$AP :mjlol:

If you weren't trying so hard to be "sophisticated hip hop fan" you might have appreciated the album for what it was :francis:
