Rocky just never had that much staying power to begin with. He is what some on here like to call a flash in the pan.
Except that he's still here, 4 years later with 2 #1 albums in a row and a blindingly superb mixtape that some people consider one of the greatest things they've ever heard in rap.
We're not talking about the same thing.
I'm talking about Rocky being done if he doesn't strengthen his core (build on Live.Love.ASAP) and maintain quality/consistency in sound. Either because he loses interest/inspiration, or it was never his ideas/passion to begin with (i.e. a Yams construct)
He's been pretty much the biggest underground rapper for the last 4 years. He's not designed for mainstream. He works well with a cult audience. and he's still benefiting off Live.Love.ASAP. That shyt gave him major staying power off the bat.
What I'm arguing is that if he doesn't maintain cult quality, he'll fall off. He's not a fad rapper, at least not in the Cash Out/Trinidad James sense. I think that got dispelled 3 years ago.
The question is: are you seeing Rocky's core fanbase, the ones that lost their minds over Live.Love.ASAP and still love it, loving the shyt outta ALLA? or just being like or even worse
