you know what?

I think you're right on this one again :smugbiden:

I'm an old head but not quite old enough to speak on pop culture stuff from the early to mid 80's. Old school wednesday filled in some holes for me but I still got plenty of holes.

I also work with kids. I've seen how the environment plays a role in what they do/create.

ADHD
short attention span
Euro/rock star fashion
social media
student loan debt out the ass
the acceptance of homosexuality and bisexuality

on top of the typical fatherless, single parent mom, auntie/uncle/grandma raised me, everybody has been in and out the system, fascination with material/fast life

Those variables play a unique role in what you're hearing/seeing... believe it or not they also have a fascination with the 90s... Their hair styles, glasses, and unique blend of colors is our shyt all over again lol

Exact same crybaby threads been getting made bout the current state of hip hop since the moment I stumbled onto :hamster:like 15 years ago, I've seen archives from proto-messageboards from the early 90s...same shyt...to call it cliché would be an absurd understandment at this point...we got muhfukkas hankering for the "good ole days " of drake, wale, Kendrick and j cole :mjlol: ...we've reached a point with the generic nostalgia bullshyt that we're preemptively giving glory days rhetoric to the present ...it's comical

I've said it more times than I care to remember, but "whining about hip hop on the Internet" dead ass needs to be officially established as an element of hip hop

One last thing that I think people should be made aware of and I guess it has to do with what happened here last spring...

They're way more race conscious.. They grew up under the age of Obama and can sniff out racism and discrimination but they still have a respect for their white peers..

There is a lot of skewing in terms of opinion on both sides.
Hip-hop in the 90s was not as culturally accepted as it is now, so there were a lot less artists than there are now.
There was also a massive limit to what was heard, even more so with the regional divide of the country.
There were plenty of weirdo rappers, plenty of weirdo songs, plenty of weirdo styles, and lots of weirdo style in the 90s.
Popular production and consumption was far different, and hip-hop artists spend a huge chunk of their time catering to the popular style and tastes, both then and now.
Considering how easy it was to go platinum in the 90s and early 2000s compared to now, and how different the style was, its really easy to see how polarised the last generation is with the current generation.

Society in general has become morally degenerate more so than ever. Society is gayer than ever before. The problem is bigger than hip-hop music. I know people with kids getting sexually harassed in school by the same sex...You can see by the responses in this thread how mad people get now if you call out faggyness. Brainwashed and conformed, and it will only get worse. Bet you money 10 years from now nikkas will openly be rapping about and advertising love of kids, and new gen will be defending it

Fail to realize this world is under :demonic: influence and you'll just be a sharer in :demonic: activities

It's the fatherless fagot generation. I mean these kids are raised by women and don't have a father at an alarming rate or any male figure in their life. That is where you get the half gay shyt. Today's society is less structured also. The whole gay shyt today is applauded and acceptable. :scust:

Hip Hop
Pants-on-head retarded post right here.

69 Boyz aren't rap. Craig Mack barely went gold. Salt & Pepa and Da Brat wasn't remotely "the biggest rappers" of 1994. Are you high out of your fukking mind right now? :what:

BIG came out in 1994. Outkast came out in 1994. Nas came out in 1994. Common Sense. Warren G. Method Man. Scarface. Digable Planets. RBL Posse. Twista.

That's off the top of my head.

So....what the fukk are you talking about? I get that some of you are tired of hearing old heads brag about the 90's but god damn man. Stop trying to rewrite history.
