Here you go. Puffy shows up to the studio high on a lot of cocaine, lit as hell, bothering Pharrell while he in his workspace creating. Pharrell is a nice guy so he entertains him. The song is released and Puff has a writing credit. Yes, I definitely see how he’s on the level of a Dre or JD:unimpressed:

outside diddy this song is actually amazing lmao

Dr dre keeps a stable of his own hitmen himself, and his style changes depending on the producers in the studio with him.

Why does Dr dre need established legends like just blaze in the studio?
You're right about Dre: his credential also looks funny in the light when you take the amount of people working with him.

:mjtf:

You think dr dre was sampling obscure records??

Dr dre and death row were abusing the hell out of 70s and funk nostalgia. You know how many casual and non-rap fans they picked up because of those samples they were using?

The samples may not have charted as high as some of the songs Puff sampled but that's mis-leading, because it was alot harder for black artists to get placement on the general chart back then, but lots of white folks still know most of that chit.

The same could be said for 90% of the big west coast records in general back then.

Also puff prolly has more hits using the more obscure samples than dr dre.

whwre did i say obscure ??? :mjlol:

:stopitslime:u big mad @ the fact that dre didnt sample commerically sucxesful hits??

which were relevant on radio x charts and puff tried to recreate the same magic with Bad boy era :childplease:.those R the facts :shaq2:

u aint gonna sell mr that funkadelic x parliament , isaac hayes , curtis mayfield were mainstream in white household across america breeh :usure::deadmanny:and kids were fsmilar when a donny hsthaway sampled song kame on like :whew::ooh::krs:thats my shxt from bak in the day :heh::heh:

i didnt say 1 sampled more or less:francis:

:hhh:.but puffs formula was diff to Dres and that was obvious:rudy::rudy: :yeshrug::yeshrug:

The ironic thing is, Dre did a lot straight up jacking old songs just like Puffy and not switching up much to the song he sampled at all

And yes, Dr. Dre has musicians who replays the music and all that, but again, it's just basically just replaying old classic music from the 70's honestly

Neither of these brothers are creative with the sampling like RZA or Premier
Who cares honestly? Folks want bops. All that pseudo analysis stuff turn people off. Most listeners ain’t even that far into SOUND to even know a signature change or flip when they hear it. Also most people that listen usually haven’t heard them old songs that are sampled

puffy just isn’t good at rapping or anything musical if we been real … I think he has an ear for talent tho and can recognise dope talent , puffy is a good hustler in bizz able to branch off into different venues…..it’s why he’s one of the richest in the game ….. if he just stuck to music all that time he would have flopped ages ago … his first album did decent due to it been at the cocktail of the east vs west controversy/ biggie had just been killed just a few month before so his album would get more hype …. But other then that he’s just a good hustler…

The same Dre that's used a ton of ghost producers behind him all these years? He really shouldn't have said anything because he's just as guilty with the sampling. I don't even need to post the Dre track lol
