And wasn't most of Metropolis evacuated anyways??

Some were evacuated, some were already dead (which he couldn't have prevented as he was dealing with the world machine in the Indian Ocean)... most of what they fought in were ruins. Some people just don't pay attention enough before they criticize.

I like the movie and as for Zod being killed by Superman... the way I figure is that Clark gotta catch a body at least once so he can know how it feels making him not want to feel that way anymore. You saw how :damn::sadbron:he was after that Zod fight... he's not gonna do that shyt again and find other ways than death to stop the villains in future movies. You see how Batman is :demonic:everytime you see him... that's because he's so :sadcam:constantly thinking bout his parents death.

Man of Steel, in the age of numerous superhero movies, doesn't 'wow' people with special effects, but it wins by Clark's heart and moving on, despite his mistakes. If they have Jonathan Nolan write the script of the sequel about Supe's shortcomings and making it up by being a better hero, then it will be a :blessed: film

I like the idea behind it, having a more serious tone and an imperfect superman, but It was really just boring to me with no big payoff. I mean I really didn't think the final fight was anything particularily special. Plus by that time I really didn't care enough about any of the characters. And there were way too many illogical parts for me to really stay interested. One or two illogical ideas I can overlook, but this movie was full of holes.

And before y'all say "it's better than the avengers", well the avengers was boring as shyt too. The only superhero movies out of the new generation that I really think are good films are TDK and the first Ironman. Heath Ledger and Robert Downey aside, these films had really good pacing and interesting stories and characters and they kept my interest from start to finish.

I like the idea of more serious superhero movies but they gotta be engaging. 90s super hero movies were mostly corny but at least they weren't boring. But based on the box office success of the new movies obviously I'm in the minority

As the movie shows Clark spends most of his adult life lost and without direction, trying do what is right while appeasing his father's wishes until Jor-El makes Kent role obsolete.
But Pa Kent's impact on Clark wasn't obsolete, sure the dude was scared shytless for his son and what would happen to him if people found out he had powers which was understandable, but you admit it yourself...Clark was wandering the world doing good. If he really had adapted a "fukk it" attitude he would have just found a nice beach and set up shop there ignoring the rest of the world.
He was trying to satisfy two masters at that point: his desire to use his powers to help people and his fear about what would happen if the world found out about him and both of those things came from being raised by the Kents.
I liked the fact that Pa Kent was complex instead of basically raising Clark to be Dudley Do Right.

Ehhh..

Just watched it again and it was worse than i originally thought..kinda bordering on boring

I think the only real reason I have any positive feelings about this movie were because of Russel Crowe

And the fact that the main character is Superman.

Other than that...lol@anybody competing this to the Dark Knight trilogies

Batman is a much more interesting character even with a 3hr movie

Until they make him SUPERMAN the unfukkwitable.. Then meh..

He's HuLK status pre-avengers movie.

I found Man of Steel to be better than the Dark Knight Rises.

Man of Steel was good on a second viewing, but you can't say it's anywhere close to Batman Begins or the Dark Knight in terms of DC movies. It's one of the better comic book but like Dark Knight Rises, there's a lot of head scratching stuff in here that sticks out like a sore thumb on the second viewing of Man of Steel.

That is cinematically the second time Superman killed Zod...... I know we were kids..... But I don't get how it never dawned on people that when Superman took Zods powers and dropped off the the side of a mountain in the North Pole, how he would survive that shyt??? :what:
