Went to some of the recording sessions they did for Crooked's album too. When nikkas say ass whippings use to go down at the Row, They weren't lying. I must have seen 3 beat downs. I remember one Sound Engineer(Can't remember his name) was son the phone with Suge and I don't know what Suge told him but he looked like he had the fear of God on his face. Dude had that :merchant: face

was at a football game in college ('98, '99) walking around the stadium as our games were more of a fashion runway than people actually watching the football game...Missy, Timbaland, Magoo, Pharell, sometimes Genuwine would always be spotted hanging out at the games or would be seen on campus a lot during this time ('97, 98) so it was normal to see them around and I was a fan as well.....Anyway, I remember around this time Timbaland had dropped one of the first videos featuring his brother who looks almost identical to him....so at one particular game me and my boy passes who I think is Timbaland's brother walking in the opposite direction and I nudge my homeboy and said " :ohhh: aye! there go Timbabland brother right there :leon:".... my homeboy goes ":what: where?"....and I point to him as we're passing and he hears me say "right there!...that's Timbaland's brother right there!! :leon:" ........
Then the guy who I think is Timbaland's brother looks at me and gives me a STRONG :rudy: :rudy: look as we pass each other ...So I look at my homeboy like :dahell: "did I say something to piss him off???"....A second or two later we realize that that was actually Timbaland :heh:

Got a couple of stories ive spoken on a couple of these already.

B.G.

Growing up in the South and especially in the N.O. it isn't uncommon to bump or see certain rappers. Back when i was in high school around my sophomore year, I met B.G twice. the first time i met him me and a couple of friends cut class and hit Canal Street ,for those that aren't from N.O or never have visited, Canal Street is like the place to go for shoes, clothes, etc. We had plan to hit an arcade in this section on Canal Street called the Riverwalk. So we cut class and hit the arcade called Pennyland. And afterwards we plan on hitting up other spots because their was this old record shop called Odyssey which sold cds. The guys i was with didnt have any money so we just listen to music. Heading back we see this silver bubble eye benz cruising slow as fukk ( the same benz he can be seen riding in the video for Hottest Of The Hot), me and the homies stop because around this time they were ALOT of robberies etc. Folks would catch a tourist coming out of a spot stick them up and hit the projects or hit the streetcar and ghost. But we see dude pull to a stop and he just leaning mouth crook like Bobby Brown with mad track marks on his forearms. Come to find out it was B.G. and years later i found out about his Heroin addiction. Classmates would always tell me about it and i would be like "Nah that just a rumor", but that shyt is still vivid as fukk.

Another time i met him was around the time he had this song called "Hottest Of The Hot". I remember because i always though the hook was weak as fukk

I use to live near a recording and movie studio. Dude was real cool and had a gang of females behind him. He actually ask me about the area because he claim "it was real laidback". A couple of dudes like Gar & Sniper were there, B.G. was jibbing at this BAD little Dominican broad (ironically she isn't nowhere in the video though). Dap him up and told him keep doing his thing. Ying Yang was out there too they had a local rumor that that were going to sign with Cash Money.......mad arrogant.

Chino XL

I use to live in Texas for about a year and a half and i was somewhat new due to relocating with my family. For the most part i had a solid job and due to me being "green", i work and hit the gym (my Job and the gym were in a strip mall). Around this time i slowly was becoming more familiar with Fort Worth , it live as hell out there brehs. And was 18 years old swole as fukk and was messing with a 34 year old name latina name Lluvia (sidenote: best sex i ever had :noah:). So September comes around and my birthday comes up. And around this time i started hang out at this record store called Warehouse Music, dont know if its still around but it use to be near a Long John Silver & a What-A-Burger (both are nasty as fukk imo :scustcosby:smile:. So a couple of days before my 19th my moms wound up taking me to the store to cop some cds and art supplies ( i use to graf back in the day) I cop 3 - Bizzy Bone The Story, Army Of The Pharoahs - The Torture Paper and Chino XL - Poison Pen , because i had already heard about AOTP frontman Vinnie Paz on a Canibus album previously. And im a fan of Bizzy Bone .The Poison Pen cd wasn't in yet. And this guy told me to leave my contact and check back or he would let me know. So he calls me while at work and lets me know he got it in BUT also Chino would be their for signing. Wound up meeting him and he sign Poison Pen and kick a freestyle, which wound up being his verse for Beastin'.

Daz, Kurupt, Snoop & Soopafly

I use to work at a High school. And around the time i wound up meeting these guys this was right before Kurupt put out the BlaqKout album with DJ Quik, one of the little homies wound up spitting for Snoop. The video is actually on youtube. Daz was high as fukk either off weed or liquor...shyt possibly both. but he told me he actually had folks from Louisiana. This hungry ass nikka (munchies i suppose) also pulled me to the side and ask me where he could purchase some oxtails. Told him i had no clue. Me and Kurupt chop it up and i wound up meeting his girl...who i found out later was Gail Gotti. Telling me how he like to work with Battlecat and wanted to work with Lil Wayne. Security was deep and the Security were actually FOI. Soopafly was mad chill one of my co-workers mistaken him for Warren G :snoop:. And he gave this her this look :birdman: to her telling her "Nah that the homie". She hit dude with the most honest reply "Well I never heard of you" :usure: (:mjlol:) . Bruh Bruh walk off mad as fukk :mjlol: . All these dudes were wearing blue on some Fly Kiwete shyt ( pronounce key - way .....Fly Crippin for the readers reading this) , with the exception of Snoop who had on a Chopper City suit and i remember this mexican being their with all these tattoos (how he got their i'll never know) but he was yelling snoop name throwing up gang signs. Snoop made the :what: and yell I see you cuzz.

Phone Conversation w/ Wu Tang Clan 4th Disciple

Years ago i was a member of WuTang-Corp. Over on that site they had section like the hip-hop shop , which would be like our Booth section and Know The Ledge, which is like our Higher Learning. I've stated it before on here but my user name came from a kung fu movie. Anyways i use to post ALOT in the KTL section. If you are familiar with the site this was around the time of users like Sunny Winters, V4D3R, Warpath (who i had a serious beef with) and food4thought ( a certified uncle tom) were on the site. I had made a post pertaining to the Moors and Ivan Van Sertima book, Golden Age Of The Moor and i left and came here (and the rest as they say id history) . But 4th sent out a tweet on twitter saying that i should get at him. I'll be honest i had a cousin hit him up because y'know folks want to see/hear if its really you or not. So i told my cousin to send him a message on FB (4th username on FB use to be Haaziq Bashir dont know if he still on it), but we wound up building at bit (really comparing notes) over the phone. And dude is REALLY smart. He has some bad ass sons though...because every 5 minutes he was yelling at them during our convo.

Alicia Keys

Met her at the same place i met Daz , Kurupt etc. She was suppose to be performing at the Arena and she made a trip to the schools to talk about this non-profit organization she was involve with. Mad homies were jibbing at her and making googly eyes. She actually didnt even acknowledge them and glance at me cause i was being so nonchalant and say "Peace King" and i responded to her "Peace My Queen" our convo was mad brief but other nikkas was jealous. She receive a phone call and said "Now isnt a good time to be having this discussion, Look i going to have to call you back" with like an attitude. Right after this she start fooling with Swizz Beatz. She gave everybody hugs and shyt just mad friendly Honestly brehs that ass is phat as fukk and Alicia got these hips :noah:

Mystikal

Met him years ago in a Popeye's . I was sitting there and in walks dude wearing some lavender ass sweater vest looking like he is about to play 18 holes of golf w/ those Max from living single braids. Dude came in their with a small little entourage of 4 people and order. they wound up fukking up dudes order and he was in the place bytching. I spoke to him and dude dap me up. All i could remember was dude seem like a fukkboy and a sugary ass bytch nikka

Kidd Kidd

Most dont know this but i spoken on how i know Kidd Kidd. He is actually from my area (he is actually from off Mazant but N.O. heads know it as M- Zone) so I know him on somewhat a level beyond the rap shyt and i've known homie waaaaaaaaaaay before he was trying to get on. Kidd Kidd We use to call him black but he was a guy who basically contrary to belief was raise with practically a silver spoon in his mouth. He has two brothers , Carl (who looks exactly like Kidd Kidd) & Joshua both who i went to high school with. (Joshua was actually in my creative writing class). Kidd never really was the person you see him portray in his rhymes. And he has a reputation for those that know him as being a habitual liar. From Clouet to Mazant to other areas in N.O. He has a crew who he refers to as Ryda Gang , what folks dont know is that the majority of the members in the clique i know or knew. Son was friends with a friend of mine from school name Tyson who we called G-Strip , i use to fool with his sister Sherika back in the day ( Readers Note: G-Strip is Galvez Street in the N.O.) & Young Miggity ( aka Mike Mike.). (Interesting Fact: In the exclusive edition of Dr. Dre The Chronic album Mike could be seen in the studio with Dr. Dre) He was mad cool but to this day Curtis (Kidd Kidd right name doesn't make any mention of Mike who was his cousin...G-Strip is suppose to be his fam too), but made a song about G-Strip...i don't know it just seem weird to me yall. May both of them Rest in Peace . I also remember Kidd Kidd getting clown and punk in the hood @ local block parties, etc (there was an incident which to this day he more than likely denied of him getting his ass kicked outside of Club Masquerade for mouthing off to some dude's girl) so the gangsta shyt is funny to me.

i have more but i post more later

I told several stories in a thread similar to this one on :hamster:

Anyway I used to work at a popular jersey hat store for those from Philly you may remember Total Sport (I worked the main store in Gallery also the downstairs kiosks, and sometimes South St. Store)

As a little backdrop Total Sport was THEE store aside from Mitchell & Ness we had an exclusive contract with them so we were the only other ones selling throwback this was back in 2000-2003 I was there.
Also we had an exclusive contract with New Era where we designed our own hats...Back in those days if you have a fitted with NBA logo on the front it was out hats also the pinwheel with two colors and team logo with nba logo was ours our hat wall was basically the lengthe of the store one of the biggest hat walls on the east coast at the time. (store owners even from nyc came and copped to resell) Long story short any big name rapper back then that was rocking fitteds and jerseys got from us or mitchell & ness directly.

With that being said rappers, producers, famous people used to come in the store all the time....couple of memorable stories

Busta came in one time in the Gallery store with spliff star and a crew. At the time im in college (Temple) and im jaded with celebrities im thinking i wanna talk to the dudes behind the scenes so I saw this Puerto Rican dude i didnnt know who he was at the time and im choppin it up with him and im thinking i wanna intern. Turns out it was James Cruz gave me the number to his office i actually dropped the ball on that :sadcam: anyway bust is grabbing mad shyt but the wack shyt like hardwood classic warm up shirts and swingmans anyways the manager at the time basically double charged busta and took him for mad loot he got GOT big time. (store is out of business now so fukk it)...

Another time this was all-star weekend in philly like 2002 mad celebs came in prodigy came strollin in dolo rocking a coogi sweater...we kept the gate closed so i was working the gate opened it for him dont remember if he copped anything but he walked out i said something like yo P what party you hittin up tonight he was like "all of them" dapped me and bounced cool cat ...he walked out dolo through crowd of people at the gate....A.I shut the mall down that night and had a private party i was cool with security so they snuck me and my boys through from a back entrence on filbert and walked in trough the food court like bosses :takedat: party was wack doe.

Anyway working there i've chopped it up with Jermain Dupri, the clipse (maaad cool and humble dudes), Alicea Keys, RockWilder, Method Man (had on yellow rubber gloves you scrub kitchens with :wtf:) Fab, fat joe, cant remember the list goes on and on..

I remember one day i was working the stand by the escalators (if anyone remembers) and i was cool with this local rapper LP from 46th street i used to hook him up with hats and shyt...one day he brings Peedie this was like 01-02ish i heard of peedie but didnt really remember his face anyway he introduced me im like damn i know all his songs...at the time Jay and Nas beef was cooking and state prop was coming up....and im standing there and Peedie is rapping to himself and he's rapping a Nas line! It was Made you Look i heard him sayDo the Smurf, do the Wop, Baseball Bat Rooftop like we bringing '88 back" im like :ohhh::mjpls:nas won i guess.

Another time around this same time Fat Joe and Terror Squad had a show up in Penn State. I was in a frat and had a chapter up there so me and my boys go to the concert and crash out there. Anyway during the show Remmy Ma lost her phone. They stopped the show and was like "anyone that found Remmy's phone please bring it" anyway my boy was waling around and ran into remmy somehow they decided to smoke so they leave through a side door and my boy text me like yo come out back im smoking with rem im like :leon:so i walk out around this time Remmy dropped the freestyle to "I made you look" Nas was obviously winning at this time..anyway i walk out smoke with them chillin she was cool i was like yo remmy you bodied that freestyle i wasnt lying cause i used to run that track back a lot in my car she was mad coo..

I got more but i gotta be out...will drop some more later...

this one isnt all that but whatever. me, my boy, and my cousin were at the bar chilling having drinks. i look to my left and see this dude that looks EXACTLY like the homie i was with and i jokingly point and say "Yo Nelz, look at your future self" (my boy's name is nelz). he looks, looks back at me, and says "nikka! thats buddy from De La Soul :krs:" I'm like bullshyt nikka, meanwhile i dont really even know since i dont know how anyone in de la soul looks. so i google and yup its Posdnuos from De La Soul. My cousin still skeptical so as Pos walks by, my cousin says "Eyyy! De La Soul!" and he turns around, smiles, and daps us all up. Thats pretty much it, but i thought it was cool. No one seemed to recognize him though and this was like a hipster kinda hip hop lounge/bar
Cats in miami really say buddy like that? :heh:

real quick:
- Jim Jones had his people hit me up, about riding/repping for his clothing company back in the day(the one before Vamp Life).. forgot the name, but i told dude to fukk off mainly because i remember in a old XXL Dipset had a spread/shoot with coincidentally- one of my friends.. the editorial started out talking about how they were on-set, and Juelz picked up homies skateboard and started cruising around.. Jimmy goes, "put that sh!t down.. gangsters dont skateboard.." fukkin clown tried to start a company based off skateboarding, few years later.. matter of fact- i know who got his chain, from when he got robbed at a video shoot.. :mjlol:
I remember that interview, I'm pretty sure it was Cam who said that, not Jim.

Met Bambaata during a festival in Europe in the late nineties, I was stoked to meet one of my heroes and a important figure in hiphop to me.My man was cool with some of the promotors and we went to the hotel to chop it up.We arrive at his hotel room, and when we knocked on the door this 15 yr old latino kid opens the door, looks at us and walks back into the bathroom..meanwhile Bam is in the room watching tv.We say what up,I introduce myself and we sit down and start chopping it up about music and the festival which was an old school festival with mad old school legends on the bill. Now every two minutes or so,the young dude comes out of the bathroom, goes through his bags, packs Bam bags and goes back in the bathroom,by this time I'm looking at my man like, something feels off about this dude,he sees my puzzlement and tells me in our native language(patois) to chill.Bam goes into the bathroom and we hear him talking to the kid. They both come out of the bathroom and by their body language i could tell this kid is not just carrying records for Bam.I tell my man I want to break out cause the vibe was weird and Bam started watching these infomercials on Dutch tv,which is basically soft porn for phone sex ads.One of the other DJ's(can''t remember his name) comes in and looks at me and my friend like "the fukk ya'll doing here".I tell my man we are leaving right now,i say peace to Bam and i'm out.On the hallway the DJ says to me "I know you're probably thinking what that was all about with the kid in Bam's room right?
I say yes and dude proceeds to teel me that Bam likes to fukk young boys and it's not really a secret within NY hip hop circles that a couple of old school DJ's had kids "carry their records" while getting piped down on some DL shyt.....needless to say, meeting your heroes is not something I want to do anymore...fukked me up for real...true story
:scust:
