ive already spent in excess of 700 dollars on hotels, from the experience in the first post, to having to get one to wait for her to arrive up here. i can get another one, but tomorrow, im going to the department head, and telling her the whole situation. as a black man who has always dealt with class in addition to race, i hate this. i hate that i put myself in this situation. i just dont know what to do.

but i will make it. I WILL MAKE IT.

You need to talk to an advisor or an ombudsmen, is there an office of minority/diversity affairs you can go to? I know my university has emergency loans/scholarship available through the diversity office for situations like this.

You're not the first person who has been in a situation like this, and you won't be the last. I would not send that letter to your advslisor, tell her you're working on securing additional funding and permanent place to stay and you'll keep her posted on any developments. You need to keep her posted. Communication is really important in situations like this, I'm not sure that she needs you out by Saturday as much as she needs to know that you know her house isn't a permanent living situation for you. Does that make sense?

its just that i really feel fukked over. im tired of always biting my tongue, especially to white folks. im sure she would not like a situation like this and would protest. especially since im not living here anymore, why not tell her how i really feel?

i wouldn't assume that if i was dude. If she told him he needs to be out by saturday, he probably should plan with that assumption.
