I feel the older generation of Blacks post MLK aren't criticized enough.

100% agree.

And @Digga38 I agree with your point about Malcolm over MLK, but you have to put it in historical context. The Civil Rights Era at that time wanted the nonviolent, interracial, utopian approach. When it failed, around 1965 is when the Black Power Era emerged and self-determination and Black self sufficiency took over and ruled; unfortunately, Malcolm had been killed by that time. Could you imagine if we had Malcolm during the actual Black Power Era???:wow:
Ur probably right

This is fair. I talk with my mother about this stuff sometimes. For instance she was complaining that men her age were not mentoring the youth. I'm talking guys that make up the black business ownership in my area. They aren't involved at all and they all moved out to the burbs leaving us stranded with no out. That needs to end with us. If we get a business popping. We need to stay our black asses in the hood and get money circulating. They dropped the ball as a generation raising us millennials. We can't make those mistakes we gotta evolve so our kids aren't saying the same of us in 20 years.
i honestly think a lot of them are simply scared to go back.

I once did an interview with a 106-year old Black man back in 06 for a local media outlet. Dude saw the Malcolm and Martin revolutions in real time. He said in short, even in the 50's and 60's people were not ready for what Malcolm was asking his people to do, they were scared of the potential resistance that it would cause. Martin was easier to get behind in part because A) His revolution was televised and covered in the media B) A lot of things like Brown vs. BOE gave his platform an easier jumping off point. When Malcolm was trying to get the word out he essentially has to rely on NOI and other Black leaders of the time frame. To put it short Malcolm was too far ahead of his time even then. Which is why had to be stopped as soon as possible.

I agree and they sabotaged Marcus Garvey black star line fk J. Edgar Hoover

There were weak people in every generation. The people in our generation who have turning up as a priotity over nation building are weak disgraces also. Being weak isnt a new thing, there were weak people on the first slave ship to land in the Americas, there were weak people who were part of the greatest African kingdoms. I dont have sympthy for weak people, they need to be held accountable for their errors just like every other group holds their weak people accountable. When getting drunk and high becomes a priority over being a productive human you are worthless. Drugs are not a necessity to live as a human, drugs are an escape for weak people who cannot handle reality.

Blame the 60s for the glorification of drugs in the Black community .

When I watch clips like this

I can't blame the older generation that much for not doing anything to really help us slay this beast . Watch that clip and tell me what options did they have ? Cultural norms like self hatred were obviously ingrained they that generation .

Something we have to be really clear about here too is that racism will never go away . We can only mitigate the affect it has on us here in America.

That's your opinion. My goal and my future seeds goal will be to uplift our people until we no longer can be controlled by others in any way shape or form. Thus ending racism.

Shouldn't most of the credit go to Elijah Muhammad, since Malcolm was merely his voice piece....?

There will still be racism tho , we could create a new blackwall street and be better off economically but I can never imagine a day where no one would be racist especially if they are the minority

We are always going to be discriminated against whether it is in the workplace or just on the street. There will always be some form of bias against someone else for whatever stupid reason . We can for damn sure though insulate from that mess though .
