Yeah, because apparently it is just impossible for someone to truly not believe in a god. This argument, as well as the 'they're angry at god' argument are flawed and extremely presumptuous. Why is it so hard to accept that others genuinely do not believe the same things as you do? Arguments like the one posed by the op only serve to stifle any kind of real discussion on the matter by simply writing off anti-religious/atheist people as just having had a bad experience, or some kind of personality flaw i.e. they're angry, they have no morals/void in their souls blah blah blah.

It's like whenever you're having a discussion with women on relationships and other gender issues and they hit you with the 'you're bitter, honey who broke your heart card'. It's just a way for people to reaffirm their own beliefs while dismissing the beliefs of others.

And they're "getting back" at God by participating in some online smear campaign against faith and religion. But really a lot of them are lonely and would like to find some meaning in their lives beyond living demonically without purpose and not having any faith or true love in their hearts.

Just look at the amount of Threads on here from Atheists attacking religious people then attempt to find religious people who make threads that "attack" atheists (I guess this is one )

So I ask you, my demonic friends, what gaping hole in your heart causes you to attack spiritual people on a daily basis with such passion?

I'm an atheist. I really don't care what people practice as long as it doesn't infringe upon my rights as a human being. Your dogma shouldn't affect my day to day life. My lack of belief in a higher being doesn't make me any more or less moral than any other average person and people who don't believe in a God don't lack "true love" in their hearts. I'd lay down my life for the people I can say I truly love, if it came down to it.

That being said, there's a difference between atheists and "anti-theists." Some anti-theists have pretty much made it their life's mission or damn near religion to shame and eradicate believers.

And for that, I really can't fukking stand anti-theists. I don't think they're "getting back at God" or are lonely, I just think most of those people are complete and utter a$$holes and would be a$$holes even if they believed in religion. They would just be a$$holes to the other side is all.

I just try to live and let live. It's very simple. I'm not going to impose anything on you, so don't try to impose anything on me. Hell, most people don't even know I don't believe. It's a personal matter. Why discuss something I have no interest in? When solicited by church-folk "spreading the word" I simply say no thanks and keep it moving. I don't get online and talk about offended I was at someone saying "bless you" or "I'll pray for you" or stand there and try to argue someone out of their belief. It's a pointless endeavor and I've got too much other shyt to do with my life than waste it talking to someone about something I don't care about.

Again you have me mistaken friend. I was banned from this forum once for threatening to pursue legal action if the Disney JBO thread was not cleaned up. I was reinstated after a period of 2 weeks. That was not the right way to handle that situation and I since reconciled with the owners of this site and we often share laughs over it.

You can attempt to assassinate my character and spread misinformation on my name but that will not change the topic of this thread, friend. And it will not improve your reputation level either, chrisdorner. You are making it clear to the friends reading this thread who is truly the man of poor character
