The D (where it's so cold)
this

This has to be Canadian money or a Fingerhut catalog as mentioned before because I used to study those Toys R Us inserts in the papers all the time. There were no 95 dollar SNES games in the US :childplease:

Yeah, I'm looking at this thread like where the hell is everyone living where games going for $80 plus?:wtf: I was like Courtdog though with that SF2 snes about begging for it a year in advanced.:laff: When GamePro released that issue with like the 30 page preview for Street Fighter 2 that shyt became my bible, I took better care of that one magazine than any other book or porno mag I have ever owned.

Thank god for Blockbuster though, rental was the only way I was playing most of these games regardless of the price.

i still own final fantasy "3" (6) and tactics ogre on cartridge. i also have the tactics ogre on ps1. the cart came when i was an adult at a garage sale, i guess some kid went to college and left and his mama was slangin all his games, and that cart was in there for 10 dollars i snatched that shyt up quick.

if i had the money i would be a neo geo collecter because i fukking loved those carts, however in all hoensty id rather have neo cd. but final fantasy 6 i got as a birthday gift i think in 1995 while i was in middle school.

the earliest memory i have though is in 1992 getting the SNES for the first time in the spring after i made the honor roll. super mario world and pilotwings got intense play.

actually ill tell you guys a really fukked up story about my dad.

1991 i turned 9. My dad at this time was being a real fukking deadbeat, my mother took me to this mall in san jose to cop what she thought for sure was going to be ninja turtles the arcade game, not the shytty original . At the time I was really improving my english and reading (i had a heavy Portuguese accent) so for my birthday and as a reward i could have any game i wanted.

my dad who is american and really into football, i instead, chose playaction football thinking somehow some way he would play with me. i skipped on having one of the GOAT video games so just maybe i could play with my dad. Nope. I never saw that nikka for a few years. I hated playaction football, it was too hard and unlike tecmo bowl it wasnt arcady enough for me.

You guys are cold-hearted not giving this man daps :wtb:

That story had me like :to:

I know Killer Instinct, and Super Mario RPG were 69.99. So with tax you looking at 75 bucks. Thats the highest i saw, but could you imagine what people would say now if games were that high?

My mom was a banker and had to use her connections at the local EB/Toys R Us/etc to have them hold a copy of whatever game (Genesis/PS1/Dreamcast) I wanted.

Uncles and Aunts used to complain about how games would be sold out but I had a copy of whatever game I wanted on birthdays/Xmas :wow:

All you had to do was get there in time to grab one of those tickets they'd have underneath the game picture. Damn, I forgot all about having to do that :heh:

That is super retro :wow: someone mentioned WWF WrestleMania 2000 (N64) and I remember cats being salty they didn't have it. I read about it in magazines and when I finally got to play when my cousin got it :krs: (I had a PS1/DC)

That game and revenge is the only reason I finally copped a N64. I got tired of playing pure wrestling piff at my friends crib then coming home to WWF Warzone :scusthov:
