Hurricane Irma: now a tropical storm, moving into Georgia today

i'm watching ABC and they got this lady from Golden Beach , mandatory evac (Golden Beach is a fairly high income area), she and her family aren't leaving because they have a restaurant they want to look after and their boat.

the guy is telling her the storm surge is 10feet , she lives on the canal, and at 4 feet her house would be flooded. She is still like, I"m not leaving

then gives advice to tell others to leave and get out now...

What hotel you staying at? Was gonna go to ATL but with the 4 lil ones, aint wanna put em through that traffic. We JUST did a 9 hour drive to NC last month and they were MISERABLE on the way home

Better go buy some IPads on credit and take them back later

because of pressure systems and winds to the West of it pushing it North....


Every hurricane doesn't act the same way, but pressure systems already moving in place do affect where they go...That's why they can predict it, but not very accurately until it's a few days away....

When I first heard about this hurricane a week or so ago I didn't expect it to be this bad. Hopefully all the posters who weren't able to evacuate are well prepped for the storm.
