That was all Jared. According to BK Zu, Jared would have him in places, but none of the Zu were around...only enablers that would cop for him.
I never liked that guy from the interviews I've seen. And that super weird biopic they wanted to do of ODB played by Michael K. Williams but it was supposed to be centered around the last few years and Jared was supposed to be involved heavily. Yeah fukk that guy.

The Cure wasn't really effected by the flood. That was more RZA got in his own way w/ Bobby Digital & never really started much of the music for it although he had all the lyrics written.

RZA Explains "The Cure" Delay, Wu-Tang Clan's "A Better Tomorrow" Progress

Some of the Cure tracks he tracked beats for have been mentioned:

The track he's referencing is Sunshine/You Are My Sunshine. Here's specific songs RZA & Cilva mentioned from The Cure:
I still would love to hear The Cure. An entire album full of songs like 12 Jewelz is exactly what I need in my life.

A lot of them have Deck as one of they favorite rappers. Deck need to chill wit the Pac was hating on him narrative he tryna push tho.

That's the story that was told to him. That's how Kurupt and Daz tell it...numerous occasions. It was too long, Rage used the verse elsewhere, Deck was last so..."song over"

As for the Deck solo, a lot of the tracks that did leak from those years weren't the best. Granted, I know it would be better stuff in the stash...but Nightshift is OKAY...Let Me At Em sounded like '94....Common Denominator sounded like a throwaway. I think he would've benefited more by coming right after Forever. But by this time, it started being 'eff RZA.

I think the biggest problem was that RZA spread himself too thin. He had 2 labels, Clan on Loud, and then everyone elsewhere. Cap only came out before Deck because Cap was on Razor Sharp...and Deck was on Loud's timetable.

Hindsight being 20/20, I wonder what is done differently if RZA could do it all over again. Besides the obvious choices of doing whatever they could to save Dirty and avoid the floods. Is the group still the same members? Do they still try all the sub/side groups? Etc

Yeah Cap benefited majorly by being a free agent sort-to-speak and being able to record material instantly, instead of being tied up in label red-tape like the rest of the clan.

RZA told them nikkas to stick with him but they all wanted to do their own thing (and rightfully so) and ended up kinda paying for it :francis:

Which is why it's hilarious now, when they get mad over the W being more valuable than them individually.

I still think he does it the same way...mostly.

If anything, I think group members stick with him longer. Meth, Deck, Ghost...Rae still does what he does. But Deck often speaks disappointment because of the flood, and when he had to turn the album in, RZA was busy...Meth says he wanted RZA back for 4:21, Ghost and RZA always put out great material, which is why he stays going back. Rae does too, but he won't admit it...Uey a grouch. Dirty is uncontrollable, GZA will always do his own thing. MK seems is the most loyal though.

This is really what caused me to ask, just from a cost-benefit perspective. Balancing the amount of headaches he continues to bring to this day/his perception among the fans with his actual contributions is a tough sell. Maybe there's something behind the scenes besides him being willing to do a lot of mundane promo that the others didn't want to do that justifies it all but iono, lol

And of course the side stuff doesn't seem to be worth it versus putting more energy back into the main group.

GZA will always do his own thing.
This is something I've always wondered but haven't ever seen much convo about. After 36, GZA seemed to be around far less frequently and he was the first to start emailing verses instead of showing up IIRC. What was the deal with this? Just not wanting to be around all the bullshyt or...?

the RZA made a song called 99 attributes of ALLAH ..the sample clearance was delaying it -if it was to be on the cure or any other wu album?>But RZA being the ZIG ZAG ZIG shelved it..

Daz damn sure don’t say Pac was hating on him. It was always that the song was too long. They had to cut from it. If he was hating he would’ve left Kurupts verse at the door as well. Daz babymoms said the shyt was done at her crib and she know for a fact Pac wasn’t hating on Deck.

Meth is loyal as hell too. I’ve never heard Meth say one bad thing about RZA ever and I recall a RZA interview where he said that the only member who always shows up when he shines the bat signal is Meth consistently.

U God is like an angry old man I don’t know why that nikka be mad all the time. Lol

If my son got shot as a baby that would either make me VERY angry all the time or VERY sad all the time. Trauma like that changes a man…

Also we can’t forget all the bullshyt that went down in those Projects before Wu even became a thing. Who knows the shyt that U might have seen or experienced that shaped his worldview. Its hard surviving in a concrete jungle

U God talks about this in his book...He says Meth was the only one who reached out to him when his son was shot.

Speaking of Golden Armz. The recent RZA Breakfast Club interview had me going down a YouTube rabbit hole and I revisited U-God's interview from 2018.

It puts alot of things we see in the show in perspective.
- Like how he really did start the "torture" routine.
- Power used his Money to help U-God get back on his feet.
- alot of the bruhs kinda left Uey isolated when he was dealing with his son being shot, yet he grew to understand it cause they never dealt with grief like that before at that time.
- he was responsible for Cappa being all over OB4CL
- Deck cockblocked him with Kim K. :mjlol:

But I always got empathy for U-God and champion him. His life has been hell, let him be grumpy. shyt he's the product of a rape, his moms raised him with resentment cause she said his face always reminded him of her attacker. Imagine being raised with that type of Grief.

The good thing he started seeing s therapist, hope that man finds peace :ehh:

Not that he was hating....the way he said it. Daz said they were arguing that the verse was dope...but Pac said song too long..song over. Why I don't see it as hating, I do see it as dismissing Deck as an afterthought. Mind you Pac has said on numerous occasions that he LOVED Wu.
