This is real easy to say, but there's literally thousands of people out there right now with Bachelor degrees and can't find a job or working a low paid $21/hr job.

I don't see this thread as a bad sign for black men. Maybe black men are opting for cheaper colleges, community college, trade school, or the military. Plenty of ways to get the bag without paying $65,000 a year.

Yea if you don’t want real mobility.

If you’re looking to have a corporate job, then you need that four year degree.

Now what I do recommend for people without scholarships or don’t necessarily know they want to do is to go to a community college and take their prerequisites, but you will eventually need to get that four year degree to be taken seriously.

This has been going on at Howard for years. It's not just isolated to Howard either. All down to aging infrastructure and bad admin.

When you see how long these kids today of all races stay on to watch streamers: Kai Cenat one day, iShowSpeed the next, Logan Paul the day after, etc. then it’s no surprise.

At least when we were young Weekday cartoons stopped at 5:30PM. At least when we were a teenager popular shows used to only be on from 8:00PM to 10:00PM.

Now you have cats who are streaming 8+ hours per day and kids who are online for nearly the whole thing every single day. Go on Twitch right now and look at how many viewers are watching streams. That’s crazy.

If you played outside or chilled with friends you were usually done when it got dark. Even when we had chatrooms they weren’t all that widespread.

Watching streams today ends with so so so much time wasted with NOTHING to show for it. These kids aren’t even watching folks play video games to learn new strategies. They’re watching people literally surfing the web.

What's wrong with $21/hr job? I mean yea it's not conducive to raising a family, but Negroes gotta be realistic. Technically the USA been fukked up since George W. Bush and I came out of HS in 2003. I still don't have kids, cause shyt too expensive and ain't no real money outchea. But black folks gotta learn to stop having kids you cannot afford, especially with this bipolar as economy.

Black Men aren't in colleges, but definitely joining the Fire Department. We moving to different industries outside of construction and law enforcement. Some are getting trades like hot cakes or they getting CDLs. Black men are Geauxin back to the days of when we weren't in professional jobs or companies but more blue collar fields and that's ok too.

Howard is living off its historical past, it is by any metric a mediocre school and shytty value for the money. It has a four year graduation rate of 60%, a six year graduation rate of 70%. Median alumni salary of $41k. Most people are better off at a community college then their state school.

Even their professional schools are weak across the board but those are still worth the investment.

The bolded is lowkey true. Some of us have family members that went there in the 70s and 80s but would not send their kids there now for the reasons you've mentioned.
