When I said a long time ago me and you don’t advocate for the same things, this post illustrates that.

We in a global pandemic and an economic collapse and states haven’t been dispersing money to help, and your response is “Biden is right, people should hold their own nuts.”

States and the federal government have dispersed money and a lot of states never even locked down

If I don’t pay my rent for a year and half I’m getting evicted and sued. That’s reality.

You clearly have entitlement issues

It’s not even a “Biden is right”. It’s about being an adult. If I can’t pay my rent, I move or negotiate with the landlord.

As it stands the federal government is about to piss away 50 billion dollars the majority of which will go to a bunch of shady corporations and you’re advocating for that instead of using that money to build homes for people. We needs to build back smarter so this doesn’t happen again.

I haven't delved much into the eviction moratorium but what is the long term plan for those behind? Is there going to be a future grace period, is there a dollar threshold where one no longer qualifies, and is there going to be some type of financial assistance to assist to aid certain qualifying people to become current?

There is no long term plan, people are just going to get evicted and have to find somewhere else to live :francis: :yeshrug:

At least on the federal level. That said, there are some states that still have eviction moratoriums in place (for example evictions in NY are paused until September) and other states might do something if it gets bad enough.

KEEPING FAMILIES IN THEIR HOMES
Even as the American economy continues its recovery from the devastating impact of the pandemic, millions of Americans face deep rental debt and fear evictions and the loss of basic housing security. COVID-19 has exacerbated an affordable housing crisis that predated the pandemic and that has exacerbated deep disparities that threaten the strength of an economic recovery that must work for everyone.

To meet this need, the Emergency Rental Assistance program makes funding available to assist households that are unable to pay rent or utilities. Two separate programs have been established: ERA1 provides up to $25 billion under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, which was enacted on December 27, 2020, and ERA2 provides up to $21.55 billion under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which was enacted on March 11, 2021. The funds are provided directly to states, U.S. territories, local governments, and (in the case of ERA1) Indian tribes or Tribally Designated Housing Entities, as applicable, and the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. Grantees use the funds to provide assistance to eligible households through existing or newly created rental assistance programs.

plus tax returns, stimulus, child tax credit, unemployment taxes refunds, rising wages and unprecedented job openings

‘there’s no better time to let this expire. It has to expire at some point

What is taking everyone so long to get the money? I know here in Florida, the application itself is a hurdle much like they did with unemployment but who the hell is benefitting from making it hard to get rental assistance?
A lot of people in America, and you see it a lot on this forum, detest poor people.
