I’m from Brooklyn a place where stars are born.
To be real no industrial nation is serious about stopping climate change. So it’s not only us. The Paris Climate agreement pushed the goal post of preventing 1.5 degrees Celsius to now 2 degrees Celsius. I recently saw a study which gave us <5% chance of actually achieving it. Apparently if all the countries which signed the Paris Climate Agreement actually followed through on their initial commitments by 2030 and continued making equal C02 reductions after that the chance of achieving the 2°C target rises to 26% but the authors of the study weren't willing to try and calculate the chance of the international community doing something they've agreed to. So in short we are fukked. Most boomer politicians alive today will be dead when the full brunt of climate change hits us in 20-25 years.
