and the alternative is what?
Making $50K living paycheck to paycheck?
Being proactive about your survival is "bootstrap mentality" now? Tell that to the people thriving right now cause they put themselves in position, t
ell it to the immigrants coming here taking over.

I don't even know what yall suggestion is. Keep doing the same thing and complaining about it hoping society takes care of you? Voting hoping for some crumb provisions?
Breh.

Most people ain’t trying to be Warren Buffet.

At what point can people just make enough to be comfortable without surviving? You sound like an animal constantly in fear.

It’s cheaper to die of diabetes or cancer than to survive in America.

why yall keep acting like this some new suggestion or foreign concept
that's literally how most of us got to the cities we grew up in. either our parents/grandparents/greatgrandparents moved to the city looking for new jobs or leaving somewhere they couldn't afford to be. that's exactly how I got to my city, grandparents came here for work with no support system or family here.

It's a normal migration pattern that populated cities like LA and Chicago and later places like Houston and Atlanta. Whatever the next city is who knows but real go getters are going continue to move to put themselves in the best position

Wrong!!

Even back less then 30 years ago, almost everywhere was affordable outside of "exclusive" all-white suburbs. :mjpls:

Midtown Manhattan was a mess, having prostitutes and drug addicts on Time Square all all times of the day. Rent was cheap there. ATL was super cheap and their midtown when it was a country town. All the major cities, even LA were cheap to live.

Gentrification done disillusioned these real estate scammers of TLR (yeah, scammers). Before gentrification hit in the mid to late 2000s, almost all the areas were affordable. The same older gen that enjoyed the best out of those places before those Chinese and Russian scammers bought up all the land, are the same ones that promote that "move to a Sundown Town with no jobs or diversity or infrastructure, and pull yourself by the bootstraps!" while they price GOUGE their properties making record historical profits.

I swear the brainwashing that a lot of you posters are disgusting. Rent was cheap before the era of gentrification. Y'all ruined humanity as a whole.

Some people need to have hands put on them, repeating that bootstraps rhetoric.

Each time I left a job my salary increased as well. Gone are the days of working for a firm for 20 years and hit six figures. A job hop should be a 30%-40% increase...

But I didn't settle for one salary, I run a business on the side and heaven forbid I get fired or furloughed my business will keep my afloat and comfortable and expenses aren't a problem...

Gen-Z along with every American needs to have another level of revenue stream to survive. Congress or Amazon sure as shyt ain't gonna help us

We need to kill those people and lobbyists in front of your face to make you understand

Unfortunately bro, this is not the case

The "urbanist" and "urban planning" wing of the left wants to remove cars, push for denser cities where you live work and play in the same area, all under the idea that it will reduce carbon footprint, reduce "sprawl", and be better for the climate.

They believe single family homes are evil and that essentially we should build even more dense and even higher rather than spread out.

This is what they're teaching in all Urban Planning curriculums across the country, which is why NYC is the way it is now (and getting worse), and which is why Seattle is the way it is now, and why Austin and Atlanta are soon to follow
I think that is true if you’re trying to develop a more efficient metropolis but I don’t see how that can apply to any non-urban area. We actively see that most millennial wants to buy a home.

That's fair. But that's where career progression and job hopping comes into play.
2010s I changed jobs 5 times , more money every time
Sitting around hoping society makes your life comfortable is a losing proposition. People in these threads sounding like boomers with the outdated mentality. Either adapt or get left behind

I'll adapt.....by bodying bootlickers of the scamming rich

60k seems to be a comfort level but is irrelevant if you can't budget, save, or have high student loan/credit card debt...

60k is maybe 3-4 bands a month take home....for a single person...it is okay...a young family though with babies, you need probably 90 or better to not starve or be house poor...

Sounds like something you need to do, particularly when you don't even know what point you've made bodying your own argument and feel compelled to back-and-forth with someone 20 years your junior and apparently, in your senile ass head, inferior to you.

This old senile nikka ain't got money problems like yourself.

Believe that until it it’s true. This dude literally had a president’s ear and he’s complaining

And college has gotten more expensive since then.

That bootstrap mentality sounds nice in theory, Until you are making 100,000 still living paycheck to paycheck in 2022.
nikkas wagging their finger at the next generation when they never faced an environment where the average home is 400k while you're 100k in student loan debt

And you shouldn't, being average in a system/time designed to benefit you isn't worthy of puffing your chest out. My money is fine and will keep increasing. Unlike you I don't ignore the status quo just because I'm good.

Once again, why the back and forth? Go bend over and cough so the doc can make sure that hate hasn't built up in your prostate, Old Senile nikka.
