I've been watching R-Rated movies since I could remember, so 4 or 5 I guess. Action movies & Horror movies like Nightmare on Elm street were non factors to my parents. Pops used to tell me to close my eyes whenever there was sex or tiddy's though.:lolbron:

shyt like Silence of the Lambs, Basic Instinct, or Fatal Attraction were off limits for me.
you would of had to close ya eyes the whole time :russ:

My dad took me to see Aliens in a theater (think it was a old school matinee joint where they show older films for cheap)

I literally didn't remember a thing about it. I just knew that I was TERRIFIED of anything even remotely un-earthly for as long as I could remember. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago I started watching Alien films with my friend during a 24 hour shift. It was crazy. Surreal.

I knew that I'd seen this shyt before, but it just never added up in my head. Then during the scene where they started coming out the floor it was when it hit me. I damn near hopped out my chair like I was a kid again :wow: I had mentally blocked the whole movie out of my fukking mind for more than TWENTY YEARS.

Saw my dad and told him I'd finally sat through all of Aliens and this motherfukker tells me "Oh yeah I remember catching that. I took you with me when you were little because I was scared to go see it by myself. I'm shocked you even remember that. You didn't say a word the whole time. I figured you were just sleep in the theater"

I almost beat that old man's ass right in his chair :hhh: mentally scar your kids for life brehs.

I was probably about 5 or 6 the first time I saw an R rated film. My pops used to get a bunch of bootlegs of movies and we'd watch them. Stuff like Terminator, Commando, Die Hard, Aliens, Nightmare of Elm Street, Child's Play, and a bunch of other horror and action movies.

My parents didn't really sweat me watching violent or gory content as a kid. I wasn't allowed to watch anything that was too sexual in nature though....Even though I snuck and watched that sort of thing anyway.

These youngins don't know about the struggles watching Skinemax and scrabbled porn :sadcam:

Natural born killers contained a scene about incest set to a laugh track.

That was the point...We've become so desensitized to violence and mayhem that you could put it in front of our faces and we ain't even phased...Dateline w Chris Hansen..Jail/Lockup/Cops..First 48..Beyond Scared Straight..

Depends on the parent and on the kid. We can make the generalization sure but every kid is different and as a parent it's your job to know your kid. I was just talking to a co worker and his parents weren't cool with him seeing ace Ventura in 94. Now to me that's absurd but his parents knew him better and that's a decision they made. You know if you have a kid who will run around repeating everything they hear or if you have a kid who's a bit more mature than that. Part of the job
I still feel he robbed his kid of that feeling we had seeing T2 in theaters
