I'm sure i watched R movies before this at my friends or low key on cable this but this is the 1st one i remember my parents actually letting me sit down and watch by myself.

Depends on the parent and on the kid. We can make the generalization sure but every kid is different and as a parent it's your job to know your kid. I was just talking to a co worker and his parents weren't cool with him seeing ace Ventura in 94. Now to me that's absurd but his parents knew him better and that's a decision they made. You know if you have a kid who will run around repeating everything they hear or if you have a kid who's a bit more mature than that. Part of the job

Everything evolves so what's R for 91 would most likely be pg 13 now. Just like gremlins and temple of doom pushed PG for their era and gave birth to pg13
