Its our culture and music. We should own it .

Yes, we should. But its power and influence is too great and they know it. We dont. Music itself is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. Hiphop is arguably the most powerful artform on the planet, so of course our oppressors would gain control of it after discovering how influential it was back in the early 90s. Hiphop today is being used for the benefit of everyone BUT black people. I wont derail the thread by going further, but they took control of a great tool to uplift, motivate, empower and educate blacks when they seized control of hiphop. Psychological warfare and media propaganda is VERY REAL. Yall better wake up and see the BIG PICTURE.

great thread OP.
Not only did these frauds ruin hip hop, but they also ruined NYC. (or whatever urban area they colonize)
I dont pay attention to any of the publications you mentioned. Their opinions have zero value in my eyes and in the eyes of people i know.
They come from their dull, pill ridden suburb with their jordans and supreme snap back thinking they can shape culture in any way. :camby:

Put them all in a room, turn on a beat and watch these stiff fukks move and you'll quickly see that their opinions are laughable :camby:

See it's one thing when you don't have the ability to mass produce magazines at newstands but a lot of these are e-zines.

You can't tell me we here at The Coli couldn't band up and do something just as good if not better including live show reviews, etc. It's not like we don't do it for the free anyways.

But y'all ain't really bout it LOL. Just complaining for complaining's sake.

I am not surprised at all....Non blacks go out of their way not to hire black people...I am not even mad at them....
I guess its because im so used to this at this point. Which is very sad to say.

Thats one of the reasons i wanted to change the tide by investing in my own businesses and making sure to give out opportunities for young black men and women who are deserving.

Whats probably even worse is that they straight up probably had a lot of qualified black people interview but they looked as many of them over as possible.

@Art Barr. Please go the fukk off right quick

*sets up tables*
:myman:my man.

This is something that really needs to be discussed...especially in the midsts of everything going on with the oscars and grammys.
