This is why we need more of us to start our own music blogs and etc. It's literally free to do it now. All you need is a ig Twitter and a YouTube account. It's why even though people hate on dj academics at least he's doing it. It's time for all this bs to stop and start being bosses instead of workers.

Okay, so that's just for their youtube. Which is pretty much just putting out black people out there for show to cover the fact they barely have any black people at a publication that primarily covers black culture behind the scenes.

It means very little in retrospect.

YEPPPP

if you look at the Complex videos they usually have the dark skinned dude Jinx or the light skinned guy Speedy

when they send someone to interview artists, they send Jinx

but those are the only nikkas they have in the office :mjpls:

A lot of what you guys are saying is correct

but be clear, a lot of writers do freelance......so while they may not write for one publication in particular they work for a bunch pitching different articles different places.

So there are often more black writers writing for these publications than it appears to be based on their actual staff.

This why I dont understand why yall give a fukk about these damn metacritic scores or whatever system these people made up to judge black music.

Most of kendrick stans always talkin about how he most critically acclaimed when all these accolades come from the very white ppl yall say he pissing off. y'all don't see nothing wrong with this picture?

so you're saying they're not hiring the black ones but just paying them as they go on an as needed basis.... meanwhile the staff members who they do choose to hire seem to have more in common.. I wonder if it is a unique perspective or writing style :martin:

Great thread. If i could rep you I would.

A lot of you guys on here would make great journalists and do great albums reviews. The opinions I've read on here are more detailed, informative, and unbias than a lot of paid journalists. Why can't the coli start doing it? I think it would be great idea.
