Alotta these stats are meaningless.

I've seen it's a lot more difficult for tall lanky dudes to bench cuz they have longer arms and gotta press the bar further.

Anyways I weigh like 145 and do 5 sets of 5 at 225 pretty easy. I have short arms tho so it's not that impressive so :manny:

Short arms or not, that's pretty impressive at 145lbs.

Started (again) back at the end of '08.

225 - 2 months ( most I've repped it was 20x)
315 - 1.5 years (hit it in the middle of '10)
405 - Still working on it. :mjcry: Closest I got is 375 (got it this past year).

Going to keep powerlifting. :salute:

Myself
First time I hit 225 bench I was in grade 12.
Started lifting weights in grade 10 but didn't take training more serious until beginning of grade 12

315 must've been during my 2nd or 3rd year college

Never hit 4 plates:to:

I started benching in college. It took me about six months to bench press 225 10 times. I didn't hit 315 until after I graduated (prolly WASNT dedicated enough). I took it more serious after graduation. It took me another 3 years to put up 405. I also put on about 25 pounds of muscle during that time.

Btw, I'm 6'1" 215 now and about to be 40 :flabbynsick:. I don't go up to 405 anymore. My flat bench goes something like this...

Warm up: 135x10
Warm up again: 225x8
Then:
275x10
315x6
315x6
275x8
225 until burnout

when I started lifting at 16, it took me til 17 to finally hit 225. Probably could of done it sooner but I was scared of the bench press at that age. Took me a while to find the rhythm to lift both sides fluidly without bouncing off my chest
