Stop it. We had intact black families up until the 70s. Most of us had married grandparents. There have been thriving black towns. We see everyone else doing things one way, but we want to do it the other way. Stopping so many kids out of wedlock would be a good start.

During those times, the crime rate violent or otherwise were significantly higher then than they are now. Drugs were taken at higher rates before Rap music was created. Almost everything negative that's happening in society was worse before Rap was a thing. Folks need to critically think instead of looking for quick answers and solutions.

No. But we have extremely poor coping skills, and use violence as conflict resolution far too often. The negative, dysfunctional, destructive aspects of "hip hop culture" is basically a side effect of not actually having a real culture.

If we had one at the foundation level, none of these deleterious things would have ever transpired. We wouldn't have allowed it because strong cultures abide by ethical and moral codes of conduct that are intimately understood, followed, taught in each household. It's inherent.
