Hakeem's best wasn't as dominant or as impressive as Shaq's best. That's why he won more titles and didn't need Jordan's retirement to achieve that either.

also,..shaq was nowhere near as offensively proficient as artis gilmore.

Oh he gets credit. But there is a big difference between winning a championship being the primary option and obviously best player on your team VS being the second option
- Drexler got his ring with Hakeem but he would have been more celebrated had he stayed and won it as the best player in Portland instead of option #2 in Houston.
- There is a reason why most people give D-Wade most of the credit over Shaq for Miami's '06 championship.
- Sure KG got his ring. But would have gotten more props had he carried Minny to a chip as option #1 vs being number 2 behind Pierce

The thing is though, outside of the championship in 2000 Kobe wasn't a clear cut second option it was closer to a 1-a and 1-b set up. There were entire series in playoffs where Kobe was clearly the first option. It had more to do with match ups than anything else.
And if we use the logic your talking about how in the hell do we look at the showtime Lakers? Kareem was the first option and best player during their first championship run, but Magic got the finals MVP due to having the best single game in finals history.
As for KG while Paul Pierce was the first option offensively, KG was the one who anchored that teams defense and his absence was a big reason why they couldn't get back to the finals the following year.

Kobe stans try so hard.They try to re write history as kobe was some "1a" option when he benefited from playing one on one while shaq drew doubles.The triangle was ran thru shaq and shaq dominated the championship round.Lakers won a game in the 00 finals where kobe played 9 minutes and left with a sprained ankle.
