yeah, corny race baiting is a terrific argument, as is anyone that doesn't think kobe is top 5 "has something against him". grow up, you sound like a goddamn fool.

anyways, i think he's top 10, but definitely not top 5. also, what's on their resume isn't the end-all, be-all...context matters.

Kobe is 4th but I can see how some could have him as low as 7th(depends on what you value in an all-time great).

He SHOULD have 2 reg season MVPs, but the last 3 or 4 (or more:mjpls:) 1st team all-defensive nods are questionable so he got a small consolation prize.
His longevity (especially as an elite player) is blessing to watch, I feel bad for those who cant look past their hate for him.

His decision making isnt the greatest in the clutch, but hes so good that when he succeeds, its:ohlawd:.

Kobes resume is definitely top 5

Also, in the 2001 playoffs, during game 2 I believe against the Spurs in the WCF, you gotta add this as an achievement, he put up the GOAT 2nd option stats too even though Shaq was the number 1 option during the playoffs.

:wow: Too goat. Easily will be a top 5 player ever, even though you can legitimately say he is a top 5 player already.

:usure:

you must be talking strictly about Hakeem.

and I already consceded that Shaq had a better overall career, but I'd still take Hakeem in his prime over Shaq in his prime.

Shaq's resume doesn't even begin to stack up against Kareem's, (but few players can). Kareem was the dominant force in the league for over a decade and he dominated on BOTH ends of the court.

When people talk about Shaq's dominance it's almost entirely based on what he did offensively. He wasn't bad defensively by any stretch but he was never close to dominant either...Every other center I've mentioned was dominant on BOTH ends of the court, that's why I'd take them in their primes over Shaq.

You can't be serious:laugh: And Shaq would of MURDERED Kareem year after year after year..that's why Kareem was dominant. He didn't go against Shaq.

Hakeem's best wasn't as dominant or as impressive as Shaq's best. That's why he won more titles and didn't need Jordan's retirement to achieve that either.
