My legs get toned enough from cardio:yeshrug:

This. The right cardio routine and you’re good. I do HIIT on the stair master. Never felt the need to do squats.

it takes a while. although I stopped working in Oct 2017, the walking issues and peripheral nerve damage that started with my ankle (just started turning my ankle over all the time) the real decline started in Dec of 2018 and getting to the lowest point around April/May 2019. what actually happened was I had severe pain in my thighs....alternating and sometimes together and was on meds 24 hours. almost got hooked on vicoden. while in pain, couldnt eat, lost weight and muscle. couldnt get better until pain went away, once it did, started the upward climb. I cant say when, some people that this has happened to, they say 2-3 years. the way I feel, come Dec I think I will be 70% (80 or more I hope) but it comes with work. Dec 2020 will mark 2 years from the start of the decline. I have just started to workout in the gym again as far as strength....before it was just getting stamina back. the improvement is a lil bit each day, not noticeable but its there...a little bit everyday. thats why I say squats are important, I am working back up with squats now, but more leg presses. the squats I dont do with weights yet, just body weight. as I get stronger will had dumbbells.

i do all that but the squat. what's your opinion on high volume bodyweight squats?

nothing wrong with body weight squats. Busting out 100 or 200 whenever is great. You can use a weight vest to do some low volume work. Mixing calisthenics with weight training is the way to go - best of both worlds.

I played wrestling and football in hs, so squats were mandatory. I got hurt senior year and didnt squat again until 2 years ago. I torn my meniscus in my knee and i didnt continue working out after surgery and therapy. My knee used to pop or swell if i didnt move around every hour or so for years....commuting was rough...


Im 30 now so thats over 15 years of my knee acting :sadbron:. I started squating and deadlifting 2 years ago and:whew:. My knee does hurt and i no longer have back pains. I have a desk job so i sit all day. There are nikkas 6 years younger than me with knee pains:pachaha:

Theres this 70 yr old wealthy cac that does bbj and swears by deadlifts thats is amazing shape:dame:. He always says a desk job will kill you and never stop lifting:hubie:

Did squats for years. Now I don't do em or if anything goblet squats. Deadlifts too. My back is kinda janky.

Long post but read if you on the fence on taking legs serious

Maaaaan taking legs training seriously completely changed my life for real. I understand why nikkas hate doing it because that shyt aint easy and it separates the boys from men but eventually you get used to and it becomes literally one of your favorite excercise to do. :obama:

Again this is from a dude who would hit them maybe once a week to just stay proportionate. What brehs don't realize is, apart from not look like an upside down triangle thats where most of your power/strength comes from. They say training legs will make your whole body grow and when i wasn't hitting them as frequent i thought it was complete bullshyt because naturally my family are naturally quite athletic built people.

My dad is 65 dont hit gym often and he looks 45 max physically. Big arms, chest but the beer gut and gray hair give it away. So naturally my upper body grows quick. So i thought that whole "train you legs to get bigger" was nonsense:bryan:

Fast forward years down the line I started taking it seriously and brehs there aint nothing like it. Without fail after a heavy squat session ya boy just feels invincible like nobody in this world can tell me shyt. I just don't give a fukk.:whew:

Im on some cloud nine shyt and this effect just carries on for the whole day. After a whie I noticed even when i wasn't hitting upperbody my bench, rows, arms everything got maaad strong :gladbron:

all the testosterone and growth hormones released were still making my upper grow cause there was a point where i had just plateaued and was just stagnant. Frequent leg training bust down Barrier on God. :blessed:



Next, when you train legs you're basically an unmovable object:pachaha: (think Zion and lebron) because your base is so strong. You see some nikkas that who have developed upper bodies but one little leg kick would have them flying or hell just a nudge will throw them off balance. Its beccause they got bambi legs and they weak as fukk. :russ:

I dead ass think partly why wilder got dominated because my man had sparrow legs. Talm bout his 40 pound costume was what made him lose his legs:beli:


Finally (this will probably be what motivates most of you skip leg day nikkas to take leg training seriously). Women.

Yea they like arms and chest but im telling you right now, they LOVE when a breh has developed quads and especially glutes (pause). :jawalrus:

Not only that but if you wanna fukk these hoes on some vang rhames baby boy shyt you NEED strong legs and back, especially for the thick ones. :wow:
There aint no chick that i cant ragdoll sexually and let me tell you, they love it:sas1:

Before being serious with the shyt a nikka would be battling with them extra voluptuous hoes but now aint no struggle bih :banderas:

You fools can continue neglecting legs thats you on. This a board where we pass on info and grow. Me personally i like learning and passing on my positive experiences. nikkas can take heed to this advice or not, I done my part:hubie:

did my first leg day today. smith machine squats, dumbbell squats, leg press, leg curls, and leg extensions. legs wobbly than a bytch. it's gonna take some getting used to but im'a stick with it. thanks for the replies

Squats are good exercises for general leg strength, I can't squat heavy because of my back surgery but if you use the form correctly you can build not just your legs but glutes as well. Its also important in helping to build your core.

Whats a good workout to replace squats? I have really bad knees and a large glute (pause, pause) Even with correct form, the next day I do squats and my knees are on fire
