Need to get back into these but idk why it hurts my back and shins when I try to squat. I’m leaning forward as well when in motion, balance and stability are off. Think dat my core and legs in general are weak, maybe doing smith machine and v squats/dumbell linges should help with form and building strength.

IMO the best way to build the squat is to squat more.

Drop the weight and reps, do more sets, and focus on form and explosion on each rep.

Stair sprints is another good one

Yes they are. A lot of coaches make their kids run bleachers and stadium steps for that very purpose.

Squatting is a good exercise and I would never talk it down, but my goodness sprinting full out on an inclined surface is an also an outstanding leg workout. Another thing that will build leg strength is running in sand. If you run in sand on a hill then the workout will be just that much better.

So yeah squats are really good, but there is a reason that a lot of people won't run hills.

Then you were truly getting a workout. I can not think of a better exercise to check a person's overall fitness level than sprinting. That is truly about explosive movements and engages just about every body part including, the quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves, abs, back, shoulders, lungs, etc. To me sprinters and jumpers are the overall best athletes. Those men and women are really strong and their hearts are usually a couple of sizes bigger than the average person.

Here is another article discussing sprinting and there is more information on hill sprints. Brutal!!!!!

just because something is your reality doesnt make it objective truth

Squats are bad for your knees and back....If you're noob trying to jump into the deep end with weights and shyt.. It's also bad if you're a strongman lifter constantly pushing past human limitations for years. All them nikkas end up with debilitating nerve , back, and joint issues eventually . Your joints dont give a fukk about ambition, mental toguhness, and breaking PRs. Dont ever go to this extreme. Stay within reason.

However

Legs are designed for generating explosive power and are the key to having proper body mechanics

Far as lower back pain, if you've been half assing, infrequently training legs or avoiding leg most of your life , you got damn right you will have lower back pain, It's a promise you will have back pain.

a solid , well developed posterior chain ( Back + Legs) is the barometer of for great body mechanics.

your knees and back hurt because your have weak, underdeveloped glutes(ass) and quads which means the hurt areas are overcompensating to distribute the heavy loads you place upon it.

you cant power through it,
you have to start from scratch, Body Weights --> Light weight --> Heavy Squats.

Starting out: Sumo Squats, Leg raises, glute bridges, pull ups, burpees will get you a solid, strong foundation

bascially anything them Bar Starz nikkas do
