i keep seeing this. base/foundation. what does that even mean? that i wont be strong in other lifts without it? that's horseshyt, i'm already strong in other lifts without it
Your legs are the foundation of your structure. You might be strong but you’ll be stronger when your legs are stronger.

Depends on your goals. If you are looking to add lean muscle it can be great pathway to that. Also most exercises that recruit that many muscle groups is going to have benefits.

this 100x. as someone recovering I feel I am qualified to speak in great deal on this. you dont know what you had until its gone. I dgaf how strong your upper body is, if you have no lower body strength you cant do shyt really and have to make your upper body work twice as hard. most of you wont understand because you havent gone through what I have but right now, opening a heavy door is a task because I dont have the lower body strength back yet.

well i don't too much care about explosiveness, i mean, i'm not trying to help my team get to the state championship, but i would like to lose this gut

then you dont need weights really, or very little. you can do exercises at home. like up-downs from chair with small weights. power lifting is not necessary.

pretty much. lol. who says squats help you lose gut? I never heard that.

Squats are the king compound exercise, it works quads, hamstrings and glutes. Is it a must to build legs, no.

You can build legs with leg press, hack squats (planet bytchess aint got those)
Walking lunges or reverse lunges. In my opinion volume is key with these exercises...dont try and put 15 plates on the leg press to start. Let ya ego go and start with moderate weight
