Honestly, this is arguably his best album since College Dropout. And I think the reason it has such replay value is because some of the production (a song like Dark Fantasy, for instance) is timeless--it would've banged in 1994, 2004 and will continue to do so in 2014.

thats the only legit great song on there. and even there i don't lie the nicki intro or the ending. i just like the verses over RZA's instrumental.

Not a huge fan of it. It was okay, but it got wildly overrated, like pretty much all of Kanye's albums. And I like Kanye, but the amount of hipsters etc. on his dikk is ridiculous.

More like the other way around. People who call Kanye's albums classic are usually (white) people who never listened to hip hop before him or before Jay-z got with Beyonce. These people usually have no idea who people like Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane are and they don't like any of the early '90s or '80s albums. They think Kanye is 'real' hip hop because he dresses differently and doesn't curse as much in his music and he doesn't talk about the hood too much but only about 'safe' topics. They hate music like OB4CL.
Lol @ hating music like OB4CL, the RZA beat and Raekwons verse on the album were some of the most appreciated things on the album.
As far as Kanyes fans being white, he got love all across the board with this album. Specially from Rza and Raekwon, who were in Hawaii recording the album with him. So it's ironic that you choose OB4CL.

And you seem to underrate the crackers, it's well known that they are the ones that fukk with "real hiphop" the most. Ever been at a Lil Boosie or Wacka Flocka show? All black. A Wu-tang show? A nikka might need some shades in there. What Kanye has in common with all these legends is that he does new shyt all the time. He keeps it fresh, original and swiftly sneaks in some essence of classic hiphop. When Mobb deep came through, when Q-tip came through, Outkast, Slick Rick, all these legends were doing something fresh, new and on. There was no label on the music, nowadays everyone is trying to what everyone else is doing. Kanye is one of the few who isn't. That's why I respect cats like Lil Jon even if their music is wack.

I'm not saying Kanye doesn't mess with guys like Raekwon. I'm saying a lot of people that in real life I see f*ck with the album are people who don't like the majority of golden era rap and who don't listen to many hip hop artists outside of Kanye, Jay-z, Eminem and Outkast's later material.
Of course most rap fans who buy the albums are white but not all white people have the same kind of love for rap. There are the people who appreciate the whole hip hop culture and listen to all the legends of the game and then there are the casual radio fans who don't know much about hip hop's history. I was just saying that the latter, in my experience, tend to really like Kanye whereas they don't like more old school artists. For example, they will like the song with Raekwon's verse on Kanye's album because it's on his album but they would never go out and buy OB4CL. Matter of fact, they prolly wouldn't even know his name, just a voice on a Kanye track.
I'm absolutely overgeneralizing here but this was all in response to the claim that people who don't like MBDTF don't appreciate real music or whatever.

I don't know about you but I've been to wu-tang concerts, I'm what you could label a wu-tang stan. And the crowd is filled with crackers, white hiphop heads rarely fukk with the ignorant wack(or good) rap. Excluding Eminem stans most of them are like Eminem. Just look at all the A&Rs and senior execs at Rawkus and Loud, mad white cats. Early Def Jam, mad white cats.

I can't knock crackers taste in hiphop, I can only knock their rapping. And obviously wiggers/em stans don't count. Even today the hottest white rapper excluding Eminem is born like 93 and only fukks with the early 90s shyt and knows all about it. You look at the white people in urban radio are mostly the type who fukks with that "real hiphop", having a white cat like Charlamagne who only like wack hiphop and at best might fukk with Rick Ross (and the ones you have to respect like Nas/Jigga just out of respect) would be ridiculous.

Isn't that what I just said?

Mainly over produced with an abundance of self indulged (and lackluster) lyrics with about 3 or 4 keepers.
