Definitely trying to master the ear.... don't know shyt about notes

You will eventually hear it ....just by learning your keys and some practice ...

A game I like to do when I'm listening to shyt on YouTube is to open up my phone and just play different keys over it .... Then I'll use some of the tools I showed you to check if I'm right or not ... And I'm slowly getting to the point where I can discern melodies ... But just focusing on those bass intervals will help with any sample.

The best paid for bass I heard is Trillion...

Or you can sample basslines from genres like dub..

Alright, thanks for letting me know!
Than i did nothing wrong in a lot of my beats. Haha

If you bored...

Learn your modes...its basically all the same notes in any particular scale...just starting on a different degree which emphasizes different musical flavors because you shift the interval relationships within the scale...

Take Cmajor....for example..

Now play all the notes in Cmajor only starting From E and ending at E...

That is the E phrgian mode and from it you can derive that spanish guitar flamenco sound...

Or all the white notes from D to D and you got the Dorian mode...which is popular in model jazz like "So What" by Miles Davis.

Theres more complex scales used in Avant Garde, Serialism and Atonal music that consist of more than 7 notes but thats the deep end of jazz.

Also Im not trying to be condescending if you already know all this shyt...but explaining it out like that helps me conceptualize shyt too

Interesting. What daw do u use it in?

Is serrato dope?
I use it in FL Studio. I use it a lot for chopping drum breaks or even getting a loop to fit in time to the bpm i’m working with. I think it’s pretty dope but may not be worth it full price. It goes on sale frequently I think I copped it for $40
